BBC Three is set to screen five half-hour documentaries on Neighbours, with input from cast members, past and present, as well as behind-the-scenes footage. The special can be seen on Saturday 14th July from 8.30pm, and details of the five, individually-themed episodes are as follows:
"In ‘Everybody Needs Good Neighbours’ the story of Neighbours is told from the very beginning, how the series came to the UK, and looking at just why the series has become such a global hit.
‘The Talent of Ramsay Street’ recalls all the eye-catching and head turning totty who have graced Erinsborough over the years, and takes an exclusive Neighbours-eye view into unique acting classes held by the production to further their acting talent.
‘Neighbours Rule UK’ catches up with some familiar faces of the past such as Craig McLachlan and Anne Charleston have lived and worked in the UK, but for whom Neighbours is never far behind…
‘Here’s to You Mr Robinson’ joins the legendary Paul Robinson (aka Stefan Dennis) for a day in his marital life, joining him on set on the day of his fateful marriage to Lyn and wondering just why this loveable rogue is such a hit with the ladies.
And finally, ‘Life, Death and Neighbours’ recalls the biggest, the best, the sad and the shocking moments of over 20 years of Ramsay Street, that has seen more death, disaster and heartache than you have had hot barbies."
Saturday 14th July - BBC3!
Spread the word! - our parents and ex-viewers will be interested to see this, bringing back all those memories also repeating on Sunday!

Far from making me sad and nostalgic for BBC1 Neighbours, it made me excited about when Neighbours goes to Channel 5 and we have Aussie Hour every week night and then the Epic Omnibus Of Greatness at the weekend.
Did anyone else shed a tear watching Madge die again?

I shed a tear at the toadie and dee thing. THAT was tragic! And I found myself not hating Ned...could he REALLY be starting to get a little less wooden?
I have decided from July 23rd when the back to basic neighbours starts, I will start watching Aussie pace again. More excited for Aussie pace Home and Away this week though as some old legends return, something Ic ant see happening in Neighbours

I proper loved what I saw of this, but my friends digibox kept playing up so I will be recording the repeats as well. Who is coming back to H&A? HAven't seen it since Shannon et al were in it, but if it's anyone from then or earlier I might start watching again.

There's some random boating accident, with all the menfolk of Summer Bay lost at sea, so of course Pippa feels the need to come and revel in Sally's misfortune at misplacing her latest shag.

Fisher isn't in it anymore? Is Alf still around? Just how shit is Home and Away these days?? (I did know Pippa wasn't in it any longer.)

I thought they showed too many recent clips and not enough of the old ones. I'm surprised they didn't include more Helen Daniels or Daphne and Des. And when they were talking about comedy deaths I thought they would have shown the drunk Julie Martin plunging to her death.

I personally still really enjoy it and find its better than neighbours. I know all soaps have to have ridiculous scandals going on every single day and it does irk me as H&A is no difference but at least theirs are a bit more believable and what Neighbours is trying to get back to ie: people problems and not planes crashing into the sea and people being shipwrecked. Donald left ages ago but is coming abck for a while. Big Pippa comes back for weddings and special occasions and Alf is still there everyday. Back on topic re neighbours night. I think at one point greasy and strangely hyperactive Dylan was pointing to a wall where they make fun of a lot of people and he pointed to Anne Haddy which made me dislike him more. Not only do you not make fun of Anne Haddy, you dont make fun of dead Anne Haddy! heartless fiend.

Wasn't that at some kind of murder mystery weekend, or something similar?
I always preferred Julie to Boring Ruth, Phil's next wife. Although Ruth did give birth to the wonderful Lance who was lovely so she wasn't all bad.

Wasn't that at some kind of murder mystery weekend, or something similar? Yeh, it was and it also allowed there to be numerous suspects as I think everyone 'nipped out for a minute' at some point. I remember when they found the body someone thought it was just a prop put on by the company. Why the company would choose the likeness of their neighbour obviously didn't register with him.

I remember when they found the body, and Rick Alessi said "Oh cool! Two murders for the price of one."

I remember being gutted that it was Julie Martin and not Debbie Martin that croaked. She was the Ultimate Soap Moose.
I only caught a few bits of Neighbours Night - did anyone see if they showed Bouncer & Rosie's wedding at any point? That was on a par with Scott & Charlene's...

There was a tiny screenshot of the doggy wedding. This was ace, and the best thing was that the dreadful Hancock family appeared to have been fully airbrushed from history. I was with a friend who didn't start watching til the 90s so she was a little nonplussed when I kept going 'aww, Des and Daphne... Mrs Mangel!... Mr Udigawa!" etc.

I was sad Drew's nan (I've forgotten her name) wasn't shown - or if she was, I missed it. She was a feisty little thing.
