This film was absolute rubbish. I was expecting a 10 Things I Hate... mixed with She's All That, and I just got rubbish. It wasn't a romantic comedy because there was no comedy and no impacting romance.
Julia Stiles is the least sexy, most androgynous person ever. I have no idea how she pulls all the fitties like Freddie PJ and Heath Ledger when she looks like she has been smacked it the face.
Plus she has a dodgy tooth like Ahmed, but instead one that is too small.

Awful film. I was watching getting ready to enjoy a Trashy teen film on Sunday Night. I couldn't be bothered with the last half hour.

She's All That is on next Sunday. It's at least 47 times better.

I watched about 10 minutes of this, presumably the same length of time spent writing the script. Dire.
Still at least TV viewing costs nothing. She's All That I actually paid to see, and it was rubbish. I won't be watching that.

fuck up - julia stiles is fantastic. Julia Stiles falls into the category of "which one is she?", being one of a seemingly endless line of young american actresses who get hyped to the high heavens and then vanish after we discover that she is really a talentless waste of space (yes I'm looking at you Neve Campbell). I'd totally forgotten that she was in The Bourne Identity and instead of seeing her play in London I watched some crap with Kate O'Mara adn Juliet Stevenson instead.

Julia and Freddie were my favourite actress and actor at the time this came out so I rushed off to see it and came home very disappointed. I do still really like Julia Stiles, though.

Julia Stiles is purty, and I think she's proven herself to be a fairly competent actress. Freddie Prinze Jr, on the other hand, I have no time for. I suspect he'll go down the Corey Feldman path before too long. He's not exactly got much on other young male actors, a la Jake, Orlando, Josh etc etc.

Julia Stiles seemed all interesting and pretty and charismatic in 10 Things but was totally boring after that. I think it was Save The Last Dance that killed her appeal. She had a face like a smacked arse throughout.
I haven't seen the film but the advert made it look so shit. It was like a parody of a romantic comedy advert it was so cliched.

I think it was Save The Last Dance that killed her appeal. And yet it was the number one movie in America upon its release, and raised her profile and salary accordingly. Down to You is awful, granted, but Julia Stiles (despite looking like cardboard and having disproportionately small hands) is a pretty great actress.

I just think she is cringingly bad. That part in Down To You where she was supposed to be dancing sexily for Freddie PJ, was absolutely horrible and embarrassing to watch.
She has two facial expressions - a shocked open mouthed one, and a little grin/raised eyebrows "oh well" one.

It's crap isn't it. And She's All That is only marginally better - 'oh my god, look how GORGEOUS she is once you simply remove her glasses !'. What do we have to look forward to next Sunday night ?
Plus, I really do not get Freddie PJ - he has got zilch sex appeal.

Next Sunday is Baz Luhrmann’s ‘William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet’. Why, oh why they had to call it that, I’ll never know? Perhaps to avoid being confused by the Enid Blyton version or something! Anyway, a bit of a cracker. Lots of ace Baz cinematography moments and a great cast. I adored this film when it came out. Then I found out that Leo was a complete and utter shit to Claire Danes for the entire duration of the film, and I went off him and didn’t watch the film for ages. I think I’ll have to watch it again, especially for the scene with Des’ree singing Kissing You.

Can I just say that, for all Julia Stiles's flaws, the bit in 10 Things where she dances on a table to Biggie is as good as cinema gets.
