My favourite film ever.
The only film I have seen in the cinema four times.
Initiation ceremony for potential boyfriends (if they fail to laugh enough, they will clearly be offended by sense of humour over time).
Endless source of quotes for me & my friend Paul (probably much to our other friends' irritation).
Does preferring this to other, weightier films make me shallow? Or am I justified in loving it so much?

"He killed people, Mom." "We all have our bad days".
And the cocksucker telephone call.
You are shallow. You are justified in loving it so much. I like that.

Yes it's wonderful
and I agree a good potential boyfriend test (although I'm not testing at the moment).
One of those films where I laugh manicly the whole time, even at the bits that aren't funny. If a boyfriend can put up with that, then they're worth keeping hold of.
Muriel's Wedding does have a similar effect on me, which is probably an even shallower film, but who gives a toss?

I've never heard of this film, what is it about?

I've never heard of this film, what is it about? A black comedy from King of bad taste John Waters. Kathleen Turner is the over protective, good mannered mother who's ready to kill to protect her family's reputation. It's very funny, watch it. Then watch Waters other films because they're all ace.
