You get used to the grey fright wig after a while, but one thing that is very hard to accept is the abject terribility of the soundtrack. It's really in-your-face and clunky.
Tom is quite good at being violent, but the taxi driver dude, Jamie Foxx, is a bit annoying.

And I was pissed off at the Hollywood ending.

Spoilers in this post, obviously.
I saw it one week when there was bugger else on and it seemed the best of a bad bunch, and was pleasantly surprised at it. Although that may have been a result of going in with very low expectations, a pessimist is never disappointed and all that.
Why the disappointment at the hollywood ending though? I saw some people on another board say the same thing about it, they reckoned it was a cop out because hollywood always needs to kill off the bad guy, but I got the impression that parts of the film were spent explaining to the audience that he wasn't the "bad guy" at all and that the only big differences between the two main characters were the choices they made and that their attitudes had been shaped by the choices rather than the other way around, and without a bad guy you can't end the film by killing off the villain.
I'm not sure if that's exactly what you meant by the hollywood ending remark though.

I just thought it was rubbish and predictable that the taxi driver became a hero and killed Vincent. It would have been more consistent with his personality not to have resorted to violence. I was hoping for some Kafkaesque nightmare where everyone thought that the taxi driver was Vincent and the real Vincent got away.
Anyhoos, I like the way it's filmed and it's an interesting concept, but I stand by my hatred of the soundtrack.
Do you think Tom Cruise was supposed to look like a prick in that suit or is it so beyond cool I just can't appreciate it?

SPOILERS IN THIS POST. DUH.
I loved the ending, especially as I was on the edge of my seat right till the last minute yelling at the screen "Don't turn your back on him! he's not really dead! HE'S FAKING!!!" THAT would have been predictable.
I still wasn't convinced he was dead, even as the train pulled into the station and the other two crossed the road together. I just assumed he was going to jump up, grab Vincent gun and bust a cap in their asses. And even before that, I thought he was bluffing about running out of bullets just to get them to let their guard down.
So yeah. Wide open for a sequel, if you ask me.

Did everyone love or hate Tom's character?

Did everyone love or hate Tom's character? Oh I rather liked him. He's much more convincing when he's being a bastard, i.e. Magnolia.
