I can't decide whether this Tina Turner biopic is a really good film made really badly, a really bad film with a surprising amount of money spent on it or a shoddilly average film.
I still love it though. Especially the bits where she sings Proud Mary in a host of ridiculoius dresses and when she kicks Ike in the bollocks. And when Ike buys her from her Mum. That's creepy.

That's creepy. the BBC show this at least 2/3 times a year and everytime I watch it. You are so right about that being creepy.

I like all the performance stuff and Tina booting Ike, but was a bit alientaed by all the Bhuddism shit. And there seemed to be loads of kids that weren't Tina's knocking around.

It's one of my favourite films of all time. Angela Bassett is (for want of a better, more descriptive term) fucking quality in it.
