This may have been mentioned somewhere else, but I can't be bothered to look... As part of the Channel 4 series at the British Film Institute, there will be a SYMPOSIUM regarding Hollyoaks on the 14th of November."Stories from both sides of the screen from Mersey Television's smash-hit soap. C4's hip drama for younger audiences has purposefully embraced difficult subjects (drug taking, eating disorders, teen pregnancy, date-rape) in its compelling stories of (mostly) beautiful people living complicated lives. We welcome members of cast and production team on stage to talk us through some of the highs and lows for the residents of Hollyoaks." I think this would be the perfect opportunity for messageboard readers to get some things off their chests. www.bfi.org.uk/whatson/southbank/film/8161

Did they not have a photo of people currently on the show?
I wonder if they'll talk about McDean. Or they could do a panel on the show's portrayal of the mentally disabled (Gilly, Katy, most of the Boringtine family).
I hope we get to see some video of the event, sounds interesting.

So this all means that no one will attend, I assume. Birmingham meet-up, anyone?

I'll definitely go to this if someone comes with me (because a shame shared is a shame halved).

I'll go with you. You just have to promise to elbow me in the ribs if it looks like I'm going to start heckling.

I don't think I can go to this. I'd probably laugh so much I forgot to breathe.
I hope Chief Storyliner Tointon is there.

Right, I'm booking my placeon Monday (I trust shiny new work laptop with my credit card details more than state subsidised dodgy library computer).
Now I just have to work out how to explain it to my new flatmates without dying of shame.

I am so gutted that I am working/in a play that week.
I also have to miss the rest of the C4 at 25 conference (I assume this is part of that?) which I really wanted to be at.

My God, I didn't realise you had to book the actual seat you want to sit in. Erm, can people PM me and tell me where they're sitting if they've already booked? I don't want to sit on my own...

I'm going to book mine tomorrow, I live right near the South Bank, so I have no excuse.
Could this double up as a lowculture meet-up?
Can you PM me as well please.

How exciting!
If we want to book them all together, I don't mind doing it...

Do it do it do it.
I am very excited. There'd better be a question and answer session where I get to ask about the trivialisation of rape.
