A teen lesbian romance is to rock BBC1’s Aussie teatime soap Neighbours early next year.
Bridget Neval, 19, will appear as student Lana Crawford.
She falls for pretty Sky Mangel, who is played by former star of the series Jason Donovan’s half sister Stephanie McIntosh, 19.
Bridget said: “My initial reaction to the role was, ‘What? A gay character in Neighbours’?
“My only concern was that the story would not be told in a sensationalist or distasteful way.
“Kissing Stephanie was not an issue because, as an actor, you have to do scenes where your character is attracted to someone who in real life you are not attracted to.”<br> Credit: The Sun
Well I guess that's Sky's best storyline by far, it'll certainly get me watching Neighbours religiously again.

3 things:
1. This should be marked as a spoiler 2. This was mentioned ages ago 3. FUCK SKY!, WHAT ABOUT BOYD! WHEN IS HE GONNA GET BUMMED? ??
It seems that they weren't brave enough for man-bumming, so they settled for lady-bummers, as it causes less controversey.

God this is depressing. I remember when she was born. And now she's old enough for ladybumming. Do they operate in some kind of speeded up time zone down there, or am I just getting older more quickly than I thought?

Ditto - I remember when her poor departed mum got gunned down on a protest against duck shooting. Poor Kerry.

...which I think deserves some kind of award for one of the all-time more creative soap deaths. It will be nominated, but it will sadly lose out to the moment in Night And Day when Frankie kills her dad by dropping the complete works of Shakespeare on his head.

That'll teach them to have one of those awful one-volume Shakespeare collections. The lovely Arden paperbacks with proper notes, one per play, wouldn't have hurt anyone.

Kerry & Joe were just identikit replacements for Des & Daphne in my book.
Daphne's death was pretty good (although not quite as good as Jamies birth, tights and all), she went into a coma after being in a car crash (returning from her fathers funeral), Des was at her bedside all week, she breifly came to , said 'I love you to, Clarkey' and then passed away with Des weeping at her side - It was so sad.

Kerry & Joe were just identikit replacements for Des & Daphne in my book. Gasp. How could you say that! Kerry and Joe were ultra fabulous. Joe was sexy in that earthy real Aussie bloke way. He was sweet and loving and honest. Kerry was so beautiful and caring. Oh they were the perfect couple. So unlike that jug eared bufoon Des and shrill ex rubbish stripper Daphne. And dont you think Sky looks like Kerry a bit?
