So it's all over, and the fat lady didn't even have to sing.
Was it a fix? Certain contestents thought Roopak was going to win when they were down to the last eight. She already was in discussions about moving to Mumbai with her husband.
She did have a lot of personality, and played the game properly, I can see her as a character actor, but not really a star. The Dawn French of Bollywood?
Sophia was the funniest, I loved it when the Acting teacher told her to drop the arrogance, and she replied something like 'you're so full of shit'. Is it any wonder she went home first.
Heidi seemed to get thinner everytime we saw her. Perhaps she had the galloping trots, if so she put on a brave face but was never really going to win. Sophia's comment that she had wrinkles was funny, but she did, and she is only a supposed 23.
Ricky was vastly improved by the hair cut - but not quite enough to win.

I don't think it was a fix - it was always going to be Roopak or Heidi imo. Having grown up on Bollywood films I can onfidently say that Heidi has a perfect 'look'. Amazingly expressive eyes and gorgeously sculpted features, it's a shame she can't dance too good or speak Hindi. Roopak lacks that unreal 'perfect woman' look but takes what she does have to produce a massively expressive and powerful character performance. She's 'old skool' Bollywood, where you could occasionally get a female lead/prominent support part who really is all about making a good film. She'll be playing lots of mum-type roles I think - there's always plenty of scope for tears and high drama there. Ricky did indeed look a whole lot better once they'd cut off that bad dye job of his, but his desperation to impress and make his mum proud just kept bleeding into his acting and making it not quite sit right. Sophia is need of a good kicking, metaphorically of course. I think it's fair to say that she did have the most professional telly type experienve, but she really didn't understand that Bollywood is a completely different kettle of fish altogether. A bit too arrogant, mean-spirited and unwilling to concede that this strange little old tough-as-nails-and-uses-a-better-mobile-than-her Indian lady knew a damn sight more about it all than she did. I really hope Heidi sticks with it and ends up doing some good films, I'd love to see her perform.

I can't help but think Roopak got the sympathy vote. If she'd mentioned her dead mother once more, i'd have slapped her.
She was however, very good at the end and it was obvious as soon as they got to the last three that she would win. Heidi is a fantastic actress, but was always gonna be hindered by the fact she was white and couldn't speak Hindi.
Ricky couldn't act.
Sofia would have walked it had she dropped her arrogance. She exuded star quality, as well as acting and dancing well. Unfortunately, she was a bitch.
