I saw this last night, it did nothing for me apart from reaffirm my, already strongly held, belief that American middle class teenagers are some of the most obnoxious, intolerable people ever to walk this earth.
And the mini twist towards the end was shite.

I am a massive fan of the Halloween franchise, but I just didn't 'get' this. Too close to the original to be an alternative while the prequel stuff just felt like padding rather than an exploration of Myers' issues. Plus the young Michael was a bit rubbish.
Disappointing.

It was rubbish!
I liked the prequel bit, but the remake part had no suspense whatsoever, there was no chase, no adreneline. It was just Michael Myers leaping out and stabbing teenagers every ten minutes or so. So pointless and dispointing. I liked Rob Zombie's other movies; House of 1,000 Coarpses, and particularly The Devil's Rejects. But this was shit. There were lots of cameos from Devil's Reject's cast members, but apart from that it was just boring. 1 or out 5 from me.
Also the the killings were very sameish, no effort was made to think up novel ways to kill the annoying teenagers.
I'd rank it worst of all Halloweens and probably worse than most of the Friday the 13th movies which are pretty similar.

Prequel bit was interesting, but Laurie Strode was so annoying she should have been butchered.
Malcolm Mcdowell was no Donald Pleasence, I laughed out loud at "As a matter of fact, I DO BELIEVE it was".
