yey! I get to christen this lovely sub-forum. This has some awesome adverts from the late 70s onwards. www.tv-ark.org.uk/My personal fave is the Milky Way 'Red Car and the Blue Car' ad, which, embarrasingly, I still know all the words to.

Anyone remember the Heinz BEans one about a girl who wanted to be a hairdresser? It had a really catchy song. Or am I just delusuional?
I loved the Turkish Delight ads, the one with the woman in the desert. They brought them back years later and they looked *so* dated!

The Ambassador's receptions are noted in society for their hosts exquisite taste, that captivates his guests.
Random grey-haired bloke 1: 'Ferrero Rocher!' Sultry mutton-dressed-as-lamb bird 1: 'Delicieux!' Random grey-haired bloke 2: 'Excellente!' Sultry m-d-a-l bird 2: 'Monsieur, wiz zeese Ferrero Rocher you are reallly spoiling us!'
The last word in crap retro adverts. Not least because FR are as cheap as chips.

My personal fave is the Milky Way 'Red Car and the Blue Car' ad, which, embarrasingly, I still know all the words to. Oh. My. God. So do I. How embarrassing. Sings quietly under breath "Oh no, the bridge is gone, old red can't carry on... But smart old blue he took the Milky Way."

I used to love to jump up and do the 'Shake n Vac' during the ad break just like the woman on the telly. Not that I was a camp little boy or anything. And you remember 'The Weetabix' when they were neo nazis? my first crush on a breakfast cereal! They even had a tie in computer game for the BBCb computer!

I am still trying to track down the brilliant adverts for unleaded petrol that Anneka Rice used to do back in the late 80s. It was her driving this big fook-off tank of a car, and then suddenly the whole frame lifted off and she was driving a flimsy bit of scaffolding. Amazing.

What was the ad for where Stanley Baxter parodied the Cointrea ad - where he played the parts of the guy chatting to the woman at a dinner party and it all goes quiet as the other guests listen?

There was a great (well, probably Channel 4 Saturday evening timefiller) programme recently about your 100 greatest adverts and this ad popped up with an interview with the original shaker and vaccer - apparently she was suffering from food poisoning or something during the filming and shaking and vaccing was not exactly the best remedy.

The red car and the blue car had a race All red wants to do is stuff his face He eats everything he sees From trucks to prickly trees But smart old blue he took the milky way
Oh dear dear me. Why can I still remember this? My best mate got in trouble for singing this in assembly instead of the hymn, which was probably All Things Bright and Beautiful or Morning has Broken.

She was on this morning today. They are discussing tv from about 11:30 til 12 each day, a bit like here in fact. I saw that. She annoyed me though because she kept acting as though 100000s of people were offering her acting jobs because of that advert as she was obviously the greatest actress ever. She also loves her legs too much.
