Did anyone else watch this at school? It was one of those educational series things, like Earth Warp, and Through The Dragons Eyes I'm sure it was this type of shoe that had the magic pen. You know the floating fat pen with a light on the end that drew letters. And the voice would say "all the way round, and down and flick". Every letter was "all the way round, and down and flick."
Anyways, I remember we used to get so excited at school when we got to watch Geordie Racer. It was about the Great North run, and this kid who got into homing pidgeons and raced them. Looking back, it must have been pretty crappy.

Geordie racer had that bloke out of 'Auf Wiedersehn Pet' in it. We had to sit through all the series at primary school and we had the textbooks too - they were yellow I think. Thats about all I can remember, so that was a waste of time!
We had the Dragon's Eye ones as well. Was that the one with three sisters in it that made something with plastic blocks that lit up? Or am I just talking absoulte shite?
God I dunno, Ive slept since then!

I also recall 'Dark Towers' and (I think) 'Fairground'
We didn't have the textbooks, just dodgy worksheets from the teachers that they copied from the book. They were written on that paper that you could make loads of copies of, and the writing was pink. What they heck were they called? I used to think they were magic.

What they heck were they called? I used to think they were magic. Oh, I think I know what you're on about!! Whenever the photocopiers at our school broke down all the sheet handed out would be from this really old machine (the name of which eludes me) - on crappy thick paper and with lots of random splodges of pink ink. Students and the unemployed might want to tune into the CBBC Channel during term times, because they repeat the 'Look and Read' stories occasionally. So far I've managed to watch: 'The Boy From Space', 'Joe and the Sheep Rustlers', Geordie Racer', 'Dark Towers', 'Cloud Burst', 'Sky Hunter', 'Fair Ground' and 'Badger Girl'. See what educational goodness I'd miss if I ever graduate!?! See www.lookandread.fsnet.co.uk/trivia/wow.html for details of when and what is being broadcast. Up next in November . . . Cloud Burst! Philip.

Scariest school learning-type thing ever:
"Never Rest In Peace"
Shit scary drama shown to us in year 6 English, about the ghost of a man who seeks revenge on the kids who wrote "Never" before the RIP on his grave.
These victorian kids died in horrific accidents on a farm - drowning in the corn shaft(!!!!), catching their arm in the mill cogs(!!!!) etc etc, because the ghost "made" it happen.
Some present day kids almost have similar events occur to them, until they discover the truth and clean the "Never" off his grave.
Anyone else had this shown to them ??
Please say it was not a dream.

I really liked Geordie Racer. I especially loved the one with the duck eggs though, which was marginally better than Geordie Racer.

god, I remember Geordie Racer from primary school- I think there was a computer game we had to go with it- or is this just false memory syndrome? On an old crappy computer, the type we had before the wonders of the internet...kids today don't even know theyre born, har!

Was there one about three bird watchers who somehow got mixed up with a Christopher Walken-lookalike's evil bird smuggling ring? With a song called "Be sure you're always carrying an ing"? Or was that a figment of my imagination?
I remember Earth Warp and Through the Dragon's Eye, with the gremlin-type creatures and scary Charn. I loved that. It was quite ambitious considering they probably had about fifty pence to work with. My friend and I adapted the theme tune of Earth Warp to say how we're all doomed because human beings are so fucked up, our humourless teacher didn't approve.

Or was that a figment of my imagination. That was the duck egg one I was talking about! There was also something to do with a telegram, and a message on a dusty mirror!
