Alien with backwards ears is befriended by a boy and given a deer stalker hat to wear.
There was a lot more going on in the show but I can't remember it.
They don't make them like this anymore.

For years I was convinced that the bloke who played Watt was Vince from Queer As Folk. I don't think it was, though (now).
The family were complete bastards. They ran the local paper out of their garage / backyard, as families in these sorts of CBBC programmes always used to do.
Transanimateobjectify seemed like a really long word back then. Not any more.

Watt is now one of the annoying Doritos "friendchips".
In the second series he had green ears.
I credit Watt On Earth for making me realise that the name Shaun/Sean has two spellings.

Was it not written by top TV scribes Pip and Jane Baker?

It was an ace show. There was always a palpable sense of danger, because people always seemed close to disovering Watt was an alien. But it was fairly funny too, and what I liked about it (as a kid) was it didn't talk down to its target audience. The tone was just right.

me and my sister always used to take the piss out of the music that they played n the background. it kind of went
'wap wap waaaaaaaahhhhhh, wap wap waaaaaaaahhhhh, wap-wap-wap-wappw-aa-wpwawpa..........waaaahhhhhhhhhhh'
or something. I can still sing it at my sister and get a rise. awesome.
