There were One True Voice similarities- boring and monotonous. And featuring boys in shorts. Will it be a success?

I cannot put into words how much I loved this. I am really looking forward to the next episode- that rarely happens. Chad Michael Murray- hubba hubba.

The show has gone up in my estimation by playing 2 brilliant Gavin Degraw songs last night. The storyline is a bit confusing though. Who is the dark haired girl who is friends with Lucas and seems to spend all her time at his house or his mum's coffee shop and treats his mum like her own? She appears to have no point, as fun as she is.

She appears to be Joey Potter. Every teen show is now contractually obliged to have the 'pretty-girl-but-she-doesn't-know-it-secretly-attracted-to-lead-actor' character. See also Mischa Barton in The O.C.
Maybe I'm suffering from the loss of The O.C. too much, but OTH feels kinda rubbish. Not even the yummy Chad Michael Murray (who's really not showing enough skin for my liking!) can save this show for me.

See also Mischa Barton in The O.C. Yeah, she has mentioned Joey and Dawson in every show so far for no particular reason except reminding us that she is Joey and Lucas is Dawson. She is still better than the blonde(ish) girl Peyton who is quite annoying. I agree with Dizzie's second paragraph as well - I just want the OC back NOW! All the characters in OTH seem confused as to what stereotype they are going to be. Lucas is meant to be a nice boy but still makes comments about Peyton's legs. Peyton is supposed to be miss popular cheerleader but at the same time is the brooding arty girl. It's no OC or DC but it will have to do until the OC comes back. Jessica

Yeah, she has mentioned Joey and Dawson in every show so far for no particular reason except reminding us that she is Joey and Lucas is Dawson. When there's only been two episodes thats not saying a lot. And they aren't Joey and Dawson- there is no lovin between them. So nice guys aren't allowed to appreciate a girls legs? There is a deliberate point about Peyton being a cheerleader but actually being the brooding arty girl- trying to fit in, etc. I like that they aren't clean cut stereotypes like the OC- thats just boring IMO. I'm greatful for it. I think its better then both combined. I have never loved a show so much after only two episodes. Chad Michael Murray and the basketball help of course, but I just think its ace as spades- so excuse the rant Jess! FACT!- The Chad is engaged in real life to Sophia Bush- who plays Brooke, Peytons cheerleading pal. *sobs quietly in a corner*
