Anyone remember Second Thoughts? Lynda Bellingham and James Bolam courting and Julia Sawhala (or my TV alter ego as she apparently is according to friends) played the teenage daughter, and there was a son. Then there was a weird and dreadful spin-off in which Lynda Bellingham's character, Faith, split up with Bolam, and the son went AWOL but was replaced by a mate of Julia's character, first played by Charlie Creed Miles (the photographer guy from early Press Gang) and later by Simon Pegg. And George from Drop the Dead Donkey turned up with dreadful long hair. (I was way too involved in sitcoms of the 80s and 90s).
Anyway...
In the Guardian today there was an interview with the real daughter-apparently Second Thoughts (and a bit of Faith... although not the splitting up part) was based on the writers' real family. And it sounds like everyone's still bitter.
What next? The revelation that The Upper Hand was actually a hard hitting documentary on male au pairs?

Second Thoughts is occassionally shown on ITV2. I like to watch it purely for the 90s fashion. I'm fairly sure Linda Bellingham was born in a turtle-neck sweater.

Lynda Bellingham and James Bolam courting and Julia Sawhala (or my TV alter ego as she apparently is according to friends) We always said that Faith was just like my mum. Does this mean we're distantly related?
