Great show!
It was a monumental flop for ITV though I think, they bumped it to 11pm after the second ep? Shame cause it was a great story.
I seem to remember queens getting in a flap because they thought it said that men can turn straight if they meet the right woman- missing the whole point that they whole drama of the show revolved around just that conflict with his friends and his family relationships about now fancing and loving a woman sexually while still considering yourself to be gay. And it does happen- that is why RTD was inspired to write it.
Oh and Lesley Sharp,Jessica Stevenson and Penelope Wilton OBE are in it- so a must watch anyway.

I bought this the other day, and have enjoyed rewatching it so much I think I'm going to cry when I get to the end. I seem to remember Russell saying it was his favourite thing he ever wrote. Its so beautifully written and performed. Lesley Sharp, Jessica Stevenson and Penelope Wilton are undoubtedly my three favourite actresses.
I don't remembed it being a flop though, and I'm almost certain it didn't get budged to a graveyard slot. As far as I'm aware Mine All Mine is the only thing Russell has wrote that is considered a 'flop'.
But everyone should go out and buy it now, its truly amazing.

Didn't this also have Justin from Hollyoaks in it before he was in Holloaks? I think it did as he used to go to my school and one of his sort of mates used to delight in telling me about every little play and advert he was in, even though I didn't care too much

Bob and Rose is indeed mighty. I do love Queer as Folk and Doctor Who but sometimes I think this gem slips under the radar a bit. I never saw it on TV the first time around so bought the DVD a few years back and watched it over about 2 days. Probably the most amazing moment is the end of one of the episodes (4?) where ... (Spoiler spaced in case anyone is going to get the DVD) Penelope Wilton rushes off to stop a thinly-disguised Stagecoach bus in a pro-gay protest. Alan Davies then declares his love for Lesley Sharp, there are trannies handcuffing themselves to the bus and it's a supremely uplifting moment, then it cuts to Jessica Stevenson, in tears and utterly devastated. A brilliant moment from all the actors involved plus the director and of course Russell T Davies and one of my favourite TV moments ever. Oh, and being v camp for a moment, there are many of my own list of Dames in this - Dame Lesley Sharp, Dame Penelope Wilton, Dame Jessica Stevenson and Dame Carla Henry. That is all.
