Apologies if there is a thread on this elsewhere, couldn't see one.
Anyone else love this series? It is definitely in my Top 3 TV programmes ever along with Doctor Who/Torchwood (cheating I know) and My So-Called Life.
Speaking of Torchwood, we saw Paul Chequer (Jamie) and Caroline Chikezie (Sasha) appear as quite major guest stars in season one, so I have high hopes for some more appearances in season two or Who/SJA.
Anyone know anything about a DVD release? I assume the massive amount of music used in the series makes it prohibitively expensive, rights-wise, to release.

As If was so rubbish. Special mention must go to the haunted swimming baths episode, and the storyline about the gay fucking a policeman when underage which lead to every episode being followed by an announcement to the effect that due to recent changes in the law 16 year olds could fuck as many policemen as they wanted, which made the angst surrounding it in the show a bit pointless.

On an As If tangent (since a few of the stars were in it), did anyone else watch Sinchronicty on BBC3 last year? Story about a girl (the chick from As If) who had a boyfriend (who was sleeping with a the maths(?) teacher from Teachers), and who was sleeping with his best friend who happened to be in love with her. It all got very confusing, not least because of the double-ending thing, but I quite enjoyed it.

As If was so rubbish. Special mention must go to the haunted swimming baths episode, The swimming pool episode was like a bad school play. Also bad was the episode that had Nicki racing against the clock to get herself the morning-after pill. It was like a spoof of 24 with emergency contraception. And the rest of the characters sat around trying to work out who Nicki had slept with. So it was also like a whodunit. But the whole thing was shit. I’m sure there were good episodes, but I can’t remember them. I did like how the characters would talk to the camera when it was their episode. I never watched Sinchronicity.

This is a bit spooky as I was trying to remember the name of this series last night when talking to a friend.
I won't go into the details of the conversation but needless to say my knowledge of McFly song titles would appear to be somewhat too detailed apparently.....

I liked the haunted swimming pool too (it wasn't really haunted). They did a "spoof" episode every series, hence the pool one was meant to be Blair Witch, there was the one with hazy absinthe flashbacks to the night before which was Cabaret, the one with the gay Italian restaurant was The Italian Job and Nikki running for her morning after pill in real time was 24.
Perhaps I am sad and a little backward for loving something which seems to generate a lot of un-love on here? (Sad face).

I really liked 'As If'. It was better than Hollyoaks was at the time, and I certainly like it better than Skins.
As gay characters go, Alex was pretty decent, and I was surprised at just how much gay snogging they got away with. It's not so long ago, but it was more controversial to do that in a teen show than it is now.
I thought Sooz was the best one though.

I hearted As If. In hindsight, it might have been a bit hammy, but I still have good memories of it. Mind you, I didn't see the haunted swimming pool episode everyone's mentioning.
Sooz and Alex were brilliant characters. I also loved the fact it wasn't about 'a group of friends', as such... whereas Skins has completely unrealistic relationships amongst a group of teenagers that conveniently all tick various social boxes, As If was a bit less artificially perfect. Like how most of them disliked each other, and were just friends-of-friends, rather than a great big all-encompassing group.

Is it bad I used to have a bit of a thing for the gay policeman, who then went on to star in the so-bad-its-good-oh-no-wait-its-just-shit mile high?
didn't alex star in that drama that was in channel 4's gay season that wasn't clapham junction?

Since I probably had a bit of a thing for Alex himself at the time I reckon that's OK. Alex was in the Channel-4-gay-but-not-Clapham-Junction story, as the very camp Lord who had lots of young men round to stay on holiday in his beach house but is now married and Not Gay (TM).

I'm sure it was Sooz in Casualty at the weekend. She played a animal rights campaigner who ended up blowing up a bus and dying. Oops.
That is all.

I mean, the all-new HD amazing edgy Casualty is all very well, but I don't want any actors I actually like to be appearing in it. She should totally be the next Doctor Who assistant. Well maybe the one after that actually... :-(
