That's probably why he didn't. Also he was probably the only one with enough sense to realise she had a poisoned vagina.
I really wish I didn't have to fritter all my money away on clothes so I could waste it on box sets.

I think they did that just to really fuck with our minds and make us sick. Put it in spoiler tags as it's season 7 related...

Kai Winn was a delicious bitch. A line that always sticks out for me was when Kira was on a retreat to her monastry and wanted to stay a bit longer and she just said
"Of course my child, stay as long as you like. A week if nessesary."
Fierce!

Also, how useless is the Bajoran church, not to notice that the woman they elected as their leader is a scheming, meglomaniacal, slutty murderess, with no morals whatsoever? Sounds like a good old fashioned Pope to me.

I've just watched the episode where Bareil dies – bloody hell, it was AWFUL. Despite Bareil dying. And the fact that Winn was in it.
I can only conclude that Hannah Tointon was getting in some work-experience as script editor or something, cos everything was just wrong. Ugh. It was like watching Voyager.

DS9 was ace, and incredibly camp at times. The Female Changeling was the most amazingly delicious evil character, ever.
It's also amazing to even watch it today and notice things mentioned early on that in a twisted way did come true - that Cardassia's fate at the end of the show was signed and sealed as early on as the third season.
However, the ultimate DS9 episode has to be the camp as tits 'Trials & Tribble-ations.' Kirk! The original Enterprise! Tribbles! 'Your flap's open.'
Amazing.

Oooh, welcome Mincyflapper! Your first ever lowculture post, and its about DS9 – clearly a man/woman of impeccable taste.
I have actually never seen the DS9/Kirk tribble-action episode – not sure how I missed it. I look forward to catching it when my DVD boxset-a-thon reaches that point.
I could never get over the whole 'why do you look like ODO!!' thing about the other shapeshifters. It always disturbs me.

*Looking forward to getting into those box sets now* Is there something you want to ask me? Hated DS9 even though I hadn't seen it but Mr Fezza decided we were having all 7 seasons and I have to let him get his way occasionally. Ended up totally loving it, probably the darkest of the franchises, the characters are the most flawed. O'Brian is a legend even if every time I see him I expect him to say 'Elvis wasn't a fucking Cajun'

*Looking forward to getting into those box sets now* Is there something you want to ask me? Oh, I asked you months ago, but I still have four and a bit seasons VOY and the Lost Room to finish first. Has anyone read any of the post-series DS9 books? I read the post TNG and VOY ones which were rubbish, as all Trek fiction usually is, but wondered if those were equally bad...

I am watching the final season now- halfway through and have to say- the quality has really dipped for me- WAY to much Ezri (this is the final season with a zillion plotlines and characters to wrap up and they expect me to give a shit about her mums mining business???) and frankly the war thing is boring me to tears.
WAR IS HELL, no shit! We get it! Kill off a lead character in combat and we might care.
However I did love the Dukat as cult leader episode- that was BRILLIANT.
2nd half of the season better have no more filler.
Season 5 is definetly its best by a mile.

I remember reading one DS9 book. And it really wasn't that bad. But maybe I just got lucky. I'd like to read this one though: Partly because the cover art is so mind-bogglingly awful, its amazing. But mainly because its about Garak, and actually written by the guy that played him. Who is clearly great. I've just watched the final episode of Season 3, where they end up with a Changeling loose on the Defiant. It was pretty fantastic - very creepy and all that. Superb final line as well: (Odo reporting what the changeling said to him as he died) "You're too late. We're everywhere." Wooooo!

2 episodes to go in final stretch- may have ODed given that I have watched a full season over a month but I just feel that is not really ending epically enough- there are a lot of balls in the air but its to easy to predict the ending- i hope there are a few surprises in store or it will be like TNG which finnised a season later than it should have.

Of course O'Brien is dead.
I never figured out that episode, if the now O'Brien dies how can the O'Brien from 3 hours in the future be alive?
It was on Virgin the other week and I watched it and still don't understand it.
