I used to love this series from 1994 and was pleasantly surprised to discover it being repeated on BBC4 on Monday night. In both plotlines and production it was very hardhitting and innovative for its time, but I was astonished at just how dated it looked now. I hope they're doing a complete run.
Was still excellent, though, and it yielded not only Helen Baxendale before she was annoying and DI Manson from the Bill but none other than Roisin from River City as a nurse!

My old English teacher used to love this - before he switched allegiance to This Life it was all he could talk about. Alas in 1994 I was 10 and never caught an episode, but I did put "I can't, I'll miss Cardiac Arrest" as a line of dialogue in my creative writing homework, and he gave me an A+.
