I have finally properly discovered this series on DVD and I love it to bits. Admittedly the last series was pretty poor but the rest of it was so so ace. I can't believe there isn't a thread for this yet(I searched the forums but couldn't come up with anything). I love all the scheming and plotting(especially from Ryan) and the way that almost everyone gets shanked as the series progresses. Officer Claire scares me quite a bit but she's ace.
I'm sure there must be other fans on Lowculture.

Oz is one of my favorite series of all time. There were so many good times it is impossible to remember them all. I still miss it. Bad Girls tried to do a spin on it, but it was never as fun and had less cocks swinging about.

One of the greatest US series ever - compulsive viewing and brilliantly written. I bought the DVD set recently and watched an entire series in one day - and then proceeded to have lots of rude dreams about Beecher and Keller.

Where I am in China I got all of series 1-6 on DVD in one boxset for about £17. I have been watching the 40odd discs in just over 2 weeks. In the episode where we all think Cyril will die(or at least I will) I cried a bit but it's a bit weird in the episode when he did actually die I didn't feel as emotional.
I know that at least with the TWOP recappers, they didn't really like the Hill monologue things but I quite liked them although some of them went on a bit. Shirley was great, brought a lot of character to Death Row.
The guy who played the Priest I don't know if he was intending to play the role as gay but he had a definite case of gayface...

BD Wong played the priest. He was originally famous for M Butterfly on stage. He is gay. I know this because I once saw him perform a cabaret song with a piano player at an AIDS benefit hosted by Liza Minnelli for the anniversary of the Stonewall riots on Broadway.

That IS gay.
Does watching Oz mean jamie isn't going to be so clueless about sex now?
