Gaah! I can't hold it in any more, Angel is just so rubbish it feels like an insult to my brain to be watching it. But I keep watching because I'm a Buffy loving sap, even though Channels 4 and 5 have tried their very best to stop me. In fact, I forget that it's on at least a third of the time, and have to read the transcript on Buffyworld. Because of this I have never seen the girl with the electric hands. She reads as an intriguing character. But anyway, the script is so awful! The deus ex machinas are so crowbarred in! Terrible action sequences for no reason. I loathe Gunn, Connor and Fred all of the time and Wesley, Cordelia and Angel most of the time. Who does that leave? Just The Host and the bit part players. Yes, I know Buffy had its dodgy episodes but not incessantly like this with the whole plot arc making no sense. Okay, sometimes Buffy's arc didn't make any sense. But it was done with charm and style. Right now for instance, Charisma's pregnancy has led to so many head shots the filming is just totally dull. Can they not be a bit more imaginative- I thought Angel had more money on it than Buffy? Does it ever get any better? I know I have Spike to look forward to but that's a whole half-a-series away. Oh, no blatant spoilers please, even though I probably know them already.

Has that "Watcher" show started? It never really got off the ground. Mind you, if they're finally making the Hitchhiker's film after 20 years anything is possible. But Douglas Adams did have to die first.

Who'll have to die for teh watcher? Antony Stuart Head? That can't happen, cos there'll be no more "oh prime minister". When is the new series of Little Britain coming?

I liked the last series better than the ones before it (except the first episodes with Doyle).
Despite what anyone says i liked the finale thought it was fitting.

If you could call it a finale. It was more like a drum roll.
Angel bored me senseless. The thing that made Buffy so special was that it was patently not about macho squaring up of foes / heroes with square jaws and enough male sex hormones to drown a school of whales in. Angel was, just standard macho crap.
And why was it always so bloody dark? I used to get eye strain picking out one character from another on screen.

I stopped watching Angel after they killed Doyle off. I was traumatised by that. I've watched it off and on since then, and it only had a few redeeming characters for me; Wes, Connor, Cordy... that's about it. Everyone else might hate him, but Connor was ace.
I didn't watch the last season out of principal. Fucking Spike. Ruined the last series of Buffy, presumably ruined the last series of Angel.

When is the new series of Little Britain coming? I know it's being filmed in September, if that helps.

Come on! That wasn't HIM, that was the fucking Potentials. The Potentials didn't help, but Spike was far worse. Spike in that fucking basement. Spike being the only one to understand Buffy, over and above all her old friends, when he'd tried to rape her the series before. Oh yeah, that's a good message to be sending out to the viewers.

The x files where the worst ever for that, you had to listen for the voices to hear who was there and even at that half the characters mumbled. Doyle was the best Angel character, i nearly cried when he died. I always wanted him to be brought back.

Spike being the only one to understand Buffy, over and above all her old friends, when he'd tried to rape her the series before. Oh yeah, that's a good message to be sending out to the viewers. The thing about the rape is that they had to have something extreme, but many people feel that was out of place. Anyway even if it WAS in place, he didn't have a soul then but still it appalled him to the point where he went out and fought for his life to GET his soul and make sure that kind of thing never happened again. But that's the thing in fandom- there are people who loathe Spike no matter what. I never loathed a Buffy character, except Caleb who was meant to be loathsome. The Potentials I can't view as individuals.

By the end of it, I actually loathed Buffy herself. The show suffered from Dawson's Creek Syndrome - the terminal condition where the lead character is never allowed to be seen as fallible or wrong about anything, and if the viewers don't love them then the viewers are wrong in the head.

So did everyone else in the show. There are dissenting reports about that. Yes, it's a shame about the last series of Buffy- this is why I have 1-6 on DVD, and not 7. But Angel should have been ended much sooner.

Yup, me too. She became entirely hateful and unsympathetic. In fact she was my least liked character. I found the whole potentials utterly pathetic and the series saving grace was bringing back sex on a stick Faith. My brother has just bought me 7 on dvd for my birthday! He also bought 1. Hurrah.

But Angel should have been ended much sooner. I think the last series of Angel was pretty damn good actually. I have admittedly only seen half of it because the guy at work who was taping it for me "forgot". However, the Spike storyline was fairly absorbing. Angel became less and less, Gunn was dire, Host (my fave) was superb as per always. I was quite into the whole thing and I do enjoy how it's that much darker than Buffy. I'd have liked more.

"Angel"=crap. I never ever wanted to watch it. It was great up until about halfway through the second year, but after the sheer genius of the Darla-Dru eps it went WAY downhill and I could just never be bothered.
