Has anyone else actually changed how they are at work after watching this? I am responsible for health and safety in our office and have stopped doing any training after seeing Gareth with the new employee. Now I just shove them all in a room and let them watch a video.

I've never seen it because I fear it may depress me. Everyone says it's true to life and if that's the case I don't want to be reminded.

Anyone who hasn't seen The Office doesn't know what their missing!
But seriously, I've heard loads of people say it's so true to life sometimes it's painful. And I don't doubt that there really are workplaces like that.

I remember in my last year of school, this was all the rage with the cool kids and the teachers but I never understood when I did watch it.
Maybe know that I actually work in an office I will get it?

I never really 'got' it when it was on TV - I would watch occasional episodes and think it was okay, but not anything special, and certainly not deserving of the hype it was generating. Then my mum brought both series on DVD and I was converted. It's fantastic, but one of those programmes you should really watch from the beginning to appreciate.

It's put me off ever wanting to be a manager, I'll say that much.
I'd wager that the majority of the managers where I work sound like David Brent at least 50% of the time, and it's just impossible to take them seriously now.
