This evening's sunny sunshine has put me in the holiday mood.
In 6 weeks or so, I'm going to Ljubljana (Ljubljana!), somewhere in Croatia (recommendations gladly received) and then Belgrade for Eurovision (Eurovision!). I'm already giddy with excitement.
Tonight I've been discussing with the boyf about a trip to Mykonos for sun, sea and Santorini.
Where are you lot popping off to this year?

Isn't Santorini a different island?
I have just returned from Istanbul. There I ate good food in random restaurants surrounded by noisy Turks drinking Raki, saw several churches and other historical monuments, sat on a roof terrace as the warm winds blew off the Bosporus and got given a slightly surreal pep talk by a pleasant if slightly overfamiliar old gay on the plane. All in all I had a good time.
Second May bank holiday I am going camping in the New Forest, and later in the summer I might be going away for a week cycling. I also might go to New York and Cologne later in the year, but that isn't decided yet.

Isn't Santorini a different island? Yes, maybe like a day-boat-trip. I just wanted to resist using either Sangria or sex, as 1 is cliché and 2 is oversharing.

Post-uni debt is preventing me from going anywhere exciting so my summer holiday will be a weekend back home down south for Brighton Pride. I'll insist on wearing jelly sandals and sending postcards though.

Hopefully I'm going to Berlin. If I get round to deciding on some dates and booking it.

I'm going to Dublin in June, Stavenger in Norway in July, and I've just been invited to a wedding in India! The date isn't set yet but it might be November or December. If it all goes to plan I think I'll stop off in Dubai on the way back to visit another friend.
I also have lots of visitors coming over too. One from India (here at the moment), one from Canada (who I haven't seen for about 10 years, coming in May), one from the USA (coming May/June), a few people from all over in June and one from UAE in July.
So, that's going to keep me busy for a bit. I was going to go to Poland at some point with a small group of friends, but no ones talking about it anymore, so I guess we're not going.

The plan is Sitges in July and Bali in November, but I haven't booked anything yet, so it'll probably go a bit tits up.
We looked at Mykonos, but it's bloody expensive isn't it.

In fact, the bus ride from the airport to the city is very picturesque and lovely in itself. Try and travel down to Croatia during the day because the views are amazing, especially if you take the costal route. You probably will want to go to somewhere on the coast I'm going to Israel in July for ten days, specifically, Tel Aviv (for some gaying), Eilat, Al Aqabah (in Jordan), Jerusalem, and Haifa.

Meh, I was planning on popping over to New York but my probation at work isn't up till the end of June and my boss said that I can't really take anything more than a few days at one time till I'm further into the job (I joined at the beginning of last week - I know I only just started but I've been thinking about it for a while now!). Unfortunately, once you get past mid-June prices rise dramatically, and the friend I was going to stay with is only there till mid-August, so things aren't looking too likely.
Looks like I won't be going anywhere for a while, though I have 14 days (pro rata) of holiday left for the year after minusing Christmas closure, so I might go on Birthright to Israel in the winter time. I also want to get over to Italy in October-time.

I don't think I'll be going anywhere sunny unless I change my mind about going to an 18-30's thing before freshers. But I am due a ski trip this year so skiing in November or December possibly, and then either a weekend in New York or Paris depending on funds.

Well you could say you've already got a holiday booked then you could just take unpaid leave. I have booked my holiday for July, so any job I get over the summer I'm going to have to take a week off. Bah, I couldn't provide evidence of Jewish descent, so couldn't do Birthright, so I'm having to pay my own way and go with a friend.

Mm, unfortunately he knows I haven't booked it yet. He was like 'a week is too much' so I suppose I could go in June on a Thursday and come back into the office on the Wednesday after. That would be fun, with jetlag and greasy hair (though they do have a shower room).
I didn't realise you had to provide evidence! What kind of evidence? Like birth certificates or family trees or something? That sucks.

In both my full-time jobs thus far, I have taken holidays 2 or 3 weeks into the job. But I had them booked beforehand, and informed such in my interview.
RTD - thanks for the Ljubljana / Croatia tip. I am looking for somewhere coastal, and train-able from Ljubljana and to Belgrade. And maybe with a smattering of gays, although I guess I'll get them in Belgrade anyway.

I'm going to Lourdes for 10 days in July with my family and I already expect to hate it. I'm not one for coach and mini-cruise trips, Catholic pilgrimages and the 'ironic' acquisition of Catholic tack and I do hope that the plenary indulgence is worth it in the end.
Seriously, I went when I was four and expected never to go again!

Hopefully I'm going to Berlin. If I get round to deciding on some dates and booking it. Berlin completely rules (figuratively-speaking). It's one of my favourite ever places. I really regret not going to see the old Stasi HQ though. Before you go, watch Cabaret and read Stasiland or The File (the latter is probably better but more boring). It's bloody boiling in the summer and men sunbathe in the park with no clothes on! At all!

You can buy glow-in-the-dark statues of Mary. It's great. At the moment I'm saving money with the aim of moving away from home and/or paying for a recording session, so a holiday is not my top priority. Hopefully I can fit in a short city break, though...

I'm trying to save up to buy a house but thats not looking likely anytime soon (esp with, as I heard on the news today, a 20% deposit now required) so I want to see some places since I haven't travelled much before.

I'm also saving for a house, but I really need a break soon because I can feel my mind about to snap. Unfortunately, no one seems available to go on holiday with me, so I'll be going by myself. Can't really afford anything more than a city break for a weekend or something.
I have next week, and I'm tempted to grab a tent and go camp near Lands End for a few days. I don't quite know why.

I went to Valencia in January and I have leave booked (but as yet no holiday) for the first week in June. Will probably end up on some last minute 'Benidorm'-style holiday. I am also going to Tenby and Dublin for hen weekends in the summer.
