Sometimes when I'm off on a train journey, I can be stood for hours in WH Smiths (well, not literally else I'd miss my train) debating which one of the above would be the best read and keep me occupied for a couple of hours.
I'm quite a big fan of Glamour, as I find there stories and features quite interesting and original, and I occasionally buy More too, because it has position of the fortnight in. Obviously. But I was really disappointed with a Cosmo I bought once which put me off buying it again, and some of the others just seem to be filled with pages and pages of stuff that looks great but you can't afford and tips which largely require other stuff which you really can't afford which is just dull, unless you're into that kind of thing. All the time.
Any one have a preference, or can shed some light on some of the ones I haven't had a chance to read yet, such as Company, and B? Or any I haven't mentioned?

My usual favourite is InStyle, although that's rapidly being replaced by Essentials. I don't care about other people's lives or diets, I just want to pay £3.50 to look at pictures of nice clothes then throw the mag in the bin. Hence I have opted for Elle.

Not an answer to the question, but I've just been reading an American issue of Marie Clare and one of the articles tells us about an amazing "wine and cheese" diet, which basically involves them coming to the realisation that if they eat the things they like in European sized portions rather than American ones they won't be quite as fat. Genius.

Take A Break is obviously the best. Trashy real-life stories are always where it's at.

Take A Break is obviously the best. Trashy real-life stories are always where it's at. "I left my husband for a deformed skydiver!" "I'm 72, he's 18, we both have cancer and his sister's having our baby!" "He slept with my sister, so I had a threesome with his Mum and Dad!" I used to devour the old copies of Take A Break in the tearoom when I worked in a shop. It was like peeking into the inner lives of the people you see haunting the frozen food aisle in Kwiksave. My mother has some bizarre clan loyalty to Woman's Weekly, even though the only thing that's changed in that mag over the past 35 years has been Mary Maryatt's hairdo. Cosmo is to be bought once a year and once a year only: when they do the 'Naked' photoshoots.

Just in case anyone else falls into the trap, let me warn you that I bought New Woman magazine last week on the strength of it having Cheryl Tweedy on the cover and her most in depth interview ever. Inside she wears some horrible dresses, tells us how much she loves Ashley and how much she is looking forward to the wedding. Worst £2.80 I ever spent.
