I've just finished this and it's bloomin' marvelous. Eggers writing is so natural that one assumes it is a true story, but it's actually his first novel. It's the story of two friends; Will and Hand, who attempt to travel the world in a week giving away money. The heart of the tale is the narrater's deep all consuming grief at the death of their friend Jack. It just flows beautifully and the internal dialogue rings true. The end is just perfect too. Reccommended.

I'm new here and this post was so old but I second that recommendation!
Dave Eggers is bloody great and even started his own publishing company to make sure other new voices get heard.
