I've gone all nostalgic for these old mystery books. Nancy was always so noble even though it was obvious her friend George was a lesbian. And The 3 Investigators were the best! Well, when The Hardy Boys (jock bastards!) were the competition that was always inevitability.
I would love to write a series like them. But the detective would be a pre-op trannie.

I was drawn to the Nancy Drew books and had a few but never read them right through as there wasn't enough talk of periods and masturbation. Although if I'd known that her mate was a ladybummer it would have been a very different story.
Obvious fact for the day: The X-Files Dana Scully is based on Nancy Drew, hence the ginger mop.

George wasn't a lesbian, she had a boyfriend - Burt or Dave, I forget which. Just because you're tomboyish doesn't make you a lesbian.

It was probably a front until she could find the right time to come out

Were the Three Investigators the one with a den inside a scrapyard? With lots of secret tunnels and a big trailer caravan? I loved them and wanted to be in with them. It's their fault I'm gay.

The DVDs of the Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys series are set to be released in America very shortly.
I remember them fondly because I was very tiny. I suspect they will not hold up as well as the brilliant cover art of the books that I recently found in my parents' basement.

I can remember watching the TV Nancy Drew and The Hardy Boys, I even had one of the TV cash in books.
One of the Hardy Boys was Parker Stevenson from Baywatch and Nancy Drew was the first Fallon from Dynasty.

If a Beard makes you look more like a man, what makes you look more like a woman? A HandBag? A Wax? Oooh!, A Brazilian, maybe!
