I did this topic on Planet Crossroads and thought I wud do it here!
I have been watchin and taping the recent epsiode of Sunset Beach. Also I have watched it the first time round so I know what is going to happen. But only when I have been watching it again have I realised that Mark 3 WAS Sunset Beach.
The Evidence:
For starters... both soaps have a previously on whatever... at the start and we know that not many soaps do this. But definatley not many actually say these words.
The opening titles: Both the same with the picture of the actor/actress and their name underneath.
The opening week... both soaps concentrated on a murder... Max Samson killing the person who he was having an affair with. Olivia killing the person she was having an affair with Del Douglas.
In the future of Sunset Beach evil twins come into play with Ben and his twin Derek. In mark 3 they had Hilary and Rocky.
Baby snatching is an exciting storyline that was on Sunset Beach. In Xroads Betty snatched Phil's Baby.
Angel had an affair with Cleo's boyfriend Joe Lacey/ Winters while Olivia in Sunset has an affair with her daughters boyfriend Cole.
And then we come to the end... Sunset Beach ended with a dream and so did mark 3 crossroads... (sunset went one step further in that they had a double dream)
Well there you go... lots of coincidences or Yvon Grace even more of an lazy cow?
You decide but to me just another floor in Mark 3... Can't even have original stories and has to copy them from an axed soap... no wonder mark 3 was axed if the stories came from an already doomed soap!
