Well...it's not out just yet, but it's going to be fan-fucking-tastic!!
Anyone who has played the first movie game will tell you how swinging about and using your web-combat powers are one of the coolest things in videogame history. The only draw back with the original was that in the "swinging about the city" levels you could only swing around the top half of the city, if you tried to go down to the floor you just...died.
But now! Oh, now! You have a whole huuuuuuge version of New Yoik to swing about in. From the sidewalk to the very top of the skyscrapers. And it's totally free-reign too so you can just arse about stopping minor crimes and pick up the story points whenever you fancy.
Plus the swinging has apparently gotten even more fun seeing as you now control both wrists independantly, and the webs HAVE to stick to a visible surface.
YeeeeeeeeeExcitedeeeeee!!
(gamecube, ps2 and xbox, this Friday, incase you were wondering.)

This is indeed mighty, although it's spoiling the story for me a bit.
The mightiest thing?
The actress who plays Brenda in the Scary Movie series does the in-game voice overs for punters on the street.
Hey, Web-head! Get yo' ass down here, NOW!

I was worried about the story being spoilt too, but i've done barely any of the "main" bits.
I was kindah addicted to swinging about before, in Spidey1, but this is just amazing. I cannot stop! Especially sticking a web to a building and then RIDING THE MOMENTUM AROUND THE CORNER OF THE BUILDING!!! I love doing that, and then using that to web-zip onto something else.
Chasing cars can be a right bitch though.

Chasing cars = easier if you just sprint after them and then do a little hop onto the back of them.

GET TO THIS POINT!!" mission when I just did a charged jump and started chargng again before I landed so I could do it agaain when I landed, I found it impossible to get there on time by actually swinging. I'm more Frogman than Spiderman really. Oh, and i'm really annoyed because i've accidently gotten to the final boss! No more saucy Black Cat cut-scenes!!! Nooooooooooooooo!

Please don't make me buy this. I have to get food. Don't buy it. It's a weak version of Grand Theft Auto, and if you want one of those you're better off with True Crime. The free roaming missions repeat early and often, and once the thrill of skywards webslinging wears off, you're stuck trudging through the missions to the end. Pretty rudimentary visuals, too. Kirsten Dunst has never looked so lumpy. Get food, and wait for San Andreas.

Fight Arena challenges? Insanely tough races? It has huuuuuge replay value if you really get into the web-slingage and want to become some kind of Ultimate Spidey Master. But I do agree that it's a very "average" game, in terms of graphics and the sub-missions. Actually, most of the main story bits arent that great either, they were better in Spidey one (except doc ock on the train) But again...it's that perfect swinging...it's more of a sports game really.

Collecting the tokens? Fight Arena challenges? Insanely tough races? Collecting tokens went out of fashion the day Starfox Adventures game out. The fighting isn't the worst I've seen, but it's pretty unsophisticated and the collision detection is ropey. The races are just boring, mostly because there's no real acceleration there, no racing lines. I thought the marker system was quite neat. I love the sensation of crawling around upside down on ceilings and shiz. And as you say, the swinging is great fun. But if it's a sport game, give it multiplayer. Let me show off my spidey-skills online, or at least versus someone around the city. Otherwise I get bored showing off to myself after a while, and I don't buy into it.

It's like...they've come up with THE Spidey experience in terms of the city...and the controls. But then they were reminded that it had to be about the second movie, and it was due to be completed really soon...so they just chucked in some story "events" around it. If they'd have spent a long time on it it could have been fantastic. Instead of focusing on the movies story there could have been lots of events from all the major villains, and random re-appearences of them from that point onwards. Then of course there could have been more motion tricks...and the ability to score points from them a la Tony Hawks. And the ability to be another character was the one great thing that didnt make it over from from Spidey One. Did you ever play that? You could be the Green Goblin...it was a whole other experience from being Spidey, it was amazing. Imagine if they'd have let you be Doc Ock, or at least Black Cat. PLUS if they'd have had a Venom storyline that would've allowed for multi-player races/trick challenges
