Anyone else have this? Toad and Toadette on the pink Toadette cart is my favourite combination of drivers.
Loving this new forum. The idea of low culture games is amazing.

Wa!
How do you get them? Do I need to clock the Special Cup on 150cc?
I heart MK:DD.
Birdo's horn is my favourite thing ever.
Honky honky!

I can't remember now! oops. I think you need to complete all modes on 150cc, it is well worth it though because Toadette is a fiesty one!
Love this game so much, it is far better playing a game with cartoon characters than proper race cars. The Wario Stadium is my favourite level.
The horns are the best bit, especially when the characters turn around and wave at you, so funny.

I think DK Mountain is my favourite track, I love that it's just all downhill. Peach Beach is also up there.
I'm going to have to try and find Toadette now. Dammit!

Just checked and you have to complete the Special Cup in 100cc (it says finish but I think it means come first!)
Toadette is the best character Nintendo has ever invented.

I think Yoshi and Daisy are my favourite Marioverse characters. Daisy's so funny -- only because I've got this whole Peach/Daisy rivalry in my head. I love how bitchy she is in Toadstool Tour.
Are you just gonna LET me win?!
What relation is Daisy to Peach? And didn't Peach used to be called Daisy?

I *heart* Mario Kart too. My favourite combination is the red Koopa Troopa (cos he often gets 3 red shells and we all know they're the best) and Wario (just because I'm always Wario). I despise Yoshi's Island as a race track, whatever the ice one is, and that one with dinosaurs on. But I love Rainbow Road, and the Cruise Liner, and the Baby theme park one. The Battle games are also awesome... Except that one with a shine that you have to try and keep hold of.
I do love/hate the way you can be so far in front and then suddenly your last and you feel so cheated.

I'm always Parakoopa and Diddy, cause I too love the three red shells, but hate green ones. Diddy gets the banana skins which are helpful if you've a red shell or an egg on your tail but he's also lightweight, so you can get the cars with the faster acceleration.
Dino Dino Jungle and Sherbet Land(?) are awful, yeah but I heart Yoshi's Island. I like ones like that and the Baby Theme Park where it's more about driving that stupid obstacles.

I'd like to say my character selection is based on such things like speed and weaponry but actually I just love the way Yoshi goes "Yooshiii".

What relation is Daisy to Peach? And didn't Peach used to be called Daisy? I 'think' that Peach was called Daisy in Japan and then somewhere along the line they transformed into 2 different people! I'm alway Toad and Toadette because when I was younger I wanted to be the girl racer but my best friend was always Peach so I used to convince everyone that Toad was a lesbian. I backed up my story by finding an article on the internet about how Toad was neither man nor woman as mushrooms are asexual. Not only is this incredibly sad, it is also false now they have introduced sexual hottie Toadette who is my new favourite! I'm so gay.

Biggest gaming disappointment of 2003 for me. Almost wholly random (I'm appalling at driving games and still managed to come third in the first UK tournament - there's a silver spanner on top of my TV to prove it) and about a tenth of the game the SNES original was.
F-Zero GX; now there's a GameCube racing game.

Is F Zero really hard though? I had it on N64 and I loved it until it just became too difficult to even bother playing. I love a tough game but not something that's ridiculous. It doesn't help I am not a big fan of racing games but I do love Nintendo racers.

It doesn't help I am not a big fan of racing games but I do love Nintendo racers. It gets tough, but as mentioned, I generally loathe driving games but there's something supremely satisfying about GX. Perhaps because it's less of a racer, more of a shooter, even though there's no shooting - it's just so fast. I'm doing it a disservice, I think; next time there's a game you really want, pick up F-Zero instead, and if you don't like it, take it back and exchange it for the one you wanted. That way you can't lose. I really didn't like F-Zero on the SNES or the N64, so it was a bit of a surprise falling so deeply in love with this (although less so since it's by Nagoshi). It has amazing attention to detail, too - each of the 30 riders has their own theme tune, including an ex-boyband member and a supercool girl poppunk thing.

I tried to give F-Zero X a play today and still can't get into it. It's far too easy to go comletly mad with the Boost. And win almsot every race.
But i do love Mario Kart: Double Dash!! It's just mayhem throughout. But i can't get first on the "All Cup Tour" in "150cc" mode. I start well. Mess up. Get back on track. By this time i'm about 3rd of 4th and the next track is Rainbow Road. Noooooooo!

And win almsot every race. what, on the top difficulty? that is pretty impressive, if so. it's one of the harder games, i think. i've done everything 'cept the final cup on the hardest difficulty, which eludes me.

Well not on the harder difficulty. I just don't like most of the levels and get bored of them. Thus on the easier levels I plough through them with the boost.

In the first Donkey Kong games and in the original NES games, like Super Mario Bros. 1, etc. they had to rescue Daisy (i'm sure if Daisy was even a Princess). She later became known as Princess Toadstool and the name Daisy wasn't mentioned anymore. She was first called Peach in Mario 64. But apparantly Daisy and the Princess were different people. Peach is Mario's ho, and Diasy is Luigi's ho.

Nah, that's not right. It's all a bit of a mess, frankly, but it's Mario and the storyline's pretty much peripheral to jumping on heads. But I'm almost certain that the original kidnapped girl in Donkey Kong was neither Peach nor Daisy, but Pauline. Here's an explanation of which princess is which. Can't vouch for accuracy.
