Damn Nintendo and their slurry of games I want. Worth it or not?

Someone at work bought this today, and we were all ooh-ing and aah-ing over it in the office.
The bongos themselves seem a bit plastic-y, but apparently as well as being able to be 'bongoed' as it were, they have a built-in detector that can tell when you are clapping and how loud. It's more clever than me.
It seems fairly good value too- 36 quid for a game AND the bongos, when with GC you'd most probably shell out 36 just for the game.

When you inevitably tire of the game, are the bongos of a sufficient quality to entertain you on their own?

I thought the bongo's were quite good. There rubbery on top. It's as if they were made with real animal skin (well not quite) I'm quite hungover so my enjoyment of my first play was a slight disaster. But i'll try it again after my shower and some co-codemol. I might keep it purely for the bongo's. When that donkey kong platformer comes out.

Well after getting over my hang over. I'm still not convinced. Would anyone like to swap it for Pikmin 2?

It's not very good, I'm afraid. I was super disappointed. I've not tried the UK version, but the Japanese one was way too easy, and I don't consider 'hiding the symbols so you have to memorise them!' either a smart or entertaining way of upping the difficulty.
To put it another way: it is about 1/10th as fun as Samba de Amigo.

I bought a second hand copy for £25 -- not very promising as someone had returned it after one weekend's play, but for that price, I couldn't resist.
It was reasonably entertaining. I'm sure it's much better when drunk.
My favourite thing about it is the retro factor you'll get from it in a few years time when no one remembers it.
Wow, DK Bongos! They're so 2004!
