As you may have seen on this board before I've become a big fan of Kath and Kim because it's been at 10 o clock every monday night on Irish telly but to my horror they announced last night before that evening's episode that it would be on at the later time of 11:40 next week. I mean for fuck's sake they had 3 episodes left! This annoys me a lot as the DVD seems to be shelved too. Amazon don't have it any more and Play.com say that's it's unavailable, does anyone know owt about the K&K DVD or UK broadcast (on terristrial), or who I might be able to contact about the DVD? Also feel free to moan about Graveyard tv slots..

All this is probably to do with their new BBC2 contract. The first series of Kath & Kim (hopefully closely followed by the second) is being shown this Autumn on the channel, which would explain the DVD delay. The BBC may have rights to it and they would definately wait until the series is over until its released. You can probably expect it Spring 2005. But if you can I would buy the Australian Series 1 & 2 DVDs, they're very well-made with plenty of extras. ezydvd.com.au is a good site (it looks cheap but its reliable)
As for the program being given a new timeslot in Ireland, I don't know whether that's the BBC's fault but it might have something to do with it. The good news is that we can expect K&K series 3 in April next year on Living TV.

I doubt the Beeb affected the Irish showing of it because they've been ahead with loads of other stuff on Irish telly before and it hasn't been affected, Network 2 (K&K's Irish channel) is notourious for taking shows and dumping them at ungodly hours, the dead zone, dark angel, the practice, six feet under etc I'm just annoyed with 3 weeks left they couldn't just finish things on a more sensible, I know a established Irish comedy chat show thing comes back at the K&K slot next week which annoys me because the typical Friends/Scrubs have been left untouched. I thought that about the DVD, it's good news about the beeb showing it, I would love for it to be huge.

a established Irish comedy chat show thing comes back at the K&K slot next week Oh God. The Panel. Shite. Half an hour of Dara O'Brien going "ahhh" a lot. And Ed Byrne chirping in with something sarcastic. Oh just fuck off. RTE need a kick somewhere swift and painful. -A
