There is one for Ocarina of Time, but what about the other 'best ever' RPG? This is definitely my favourite game of all time. My favourite character was Aeris but I was so sad when she died. After that, my favourite became Barret. And I could never unlock Vincent. And Safer-Sephiroth has to be one of the hardest bosses ever. My favourite two battles were against Diamond WEAPON and the Proud Clod (or something). I always wanted to play as Reno and the other Turks cos they were bad ass.
Now they're making all these sequel things I'm worried the original will be tainted but I can't be sure.

Good game, good game as Brucie might say. My favourite bit was when you entered that big Shinra building and you could go up a staircase that never seemed to end, and Barret goes 'This isn't one of those neverending staircases, is it?' which I thought was great cos it seemed to be taking the piss out of the stupid things you get in games. Of course there's a lot more of that around today.
I also loved, LOVED the cut scene where Sepiroth(sp) pulled away the creepy statue of Genova or whatever it was.
But I hated the end boss cos I finally got up to him the second time I played through the game (first time the guy who I borrowed it off wanted it back) and I think my characters were a bit underdeveloped, the boss (I presume he was the end boss!) kept casting some spell that lasted about ten minutes each bloody time and it took about an hour to die.

the boss (I presume he was the end boss!) kept casting some spell that lasted about ten minutes each bloody time and it took about an hour to die. Possibly the best way of killing someone ever? He actually managed to take the sun and throw it past all the planets and get it to hit you. Being hit by the sun must be so cool. Yes Aeris is amazing I even cried at her death but it's clearly all about. She had the biggest computerised breasts I'd ever seen, she even used t hem to hang off a cliff edge. Aren't they making a film depicting the evens after the ending of the game?

You know, this is one of the best games I ever played even though I never did complete it.
I cried at Aeris' death too! I just couldn't believe it. That totally shocked me that she died. She was my favourite character, and for a character to die in a game was unheard of to me!
The reason I never completed it is because my computer crashed and wiped everything about 3/4 or more of the way through. Although I enjoyed it a hell of a lot, the thought of starting from the beginning again was just too much to bear.

There is one for Ocarina of Time, but what about the other 'best ever' RPG? Final Fantasy VIII surely? Selphie! Gunblades! Etc!

You know on the subject of the multitudes of FFs, I don't think you can go wrong with FFIII or 6 or whichever way round it was called in europe. the one with Shadow and Mog where you could play as about nine billion different characters.
But surely the other best ever RPG is Secret of Mana...

Aeris was the worst character ever, she was completely useless. I was over the moon when she died. Interestingly, if you treat her badly she doesn't come to see Cloud when the team spends the night in the Gold Saucer, Tifa does instead. And she's as keen as mustard, but no matter how much you goad her she does absolutely nothing about her feelings for him.
