I want it! But I've got an interview at UCL on Tuesday and if I'm not going to fall flat on my face I've got to read all the books I lied and told them I read. So that means no purchase of this until my interview is over.
So if anyone has this yet feel free to rave about it and rub my face in it *sob*. I've yet to hear a bad word about this yet so maybe one of you can be all controversial.

AMAZING! Is the word to describe this game
Everything about it is amazing. The boss fights are amazing. My jaw was literally on the floor at the first boss. It just has to be seen to be believed. There also neat little touches like the dog at the start. To save or not to save it carries a consequence. But I only know this because of watching my brother play it. It's just bloody brilliant. The entire game. The action never get's tired. It has great set peices and suprise. The atmosphere created is totally un-nerving.

Yes, I got really excited about this before launch. Don't think I've felt like that since Zelda: Ocarina Of Time and I have to say this is fully living up to everything I was hoping for and then some. Try not to go in with too many preconceptions though, just enjoy it, its wicked and totally sick! When dealing out death some of the kills are beyond gruesome.
I'm about a 3rd of the way in I think, its just brilliant!
Rave over.

Got this today, woohoo!
At first I was a bit underwhelmed - the graphics are gorgeous and the sound excellent but the control felt awkward and the camera didn't seem quite right.
But after a few hours play it's delights are becoming clear. I think what's great about it is that there is a 'set-piece' event every 15-20 minutes or so, stuff that really sticks in your mind. I'm still not even that far into it yet and it already has me engrossed like no other game has for ages

I Amazon'd this for my boyfriend for Easter ("Happy Anniversary of Christ's death and subsequent resurrection -- let's kick some non-zombie ass!" et cetera). I'm not a fan of Resi games but this one does look a bit more special.
I've read that the controls on this one are far, far better than previous Resi games, which makes me wonder how bad they used to be if you've still got niggles about them jammy.

I think after a few hours play it becomes clear that the controls in Resident Evil have intential restraints. It really does make it feel very realistic. Be prepared for the first hour or so to be fairly frustrating. Especially if you have never played the previous Resident Evils.
The controls in the previous Resident Evils are appauling, they really put me off of the games. They were so bad it was unbelievable that anyone could make them THAT bad.

I have completed this game. It was an absoloubte riot from start to finish. In my opinion it is one of the best ever and should go down as a gaming classsic. It really is a joy to play. I just love the features. Weapon upgrades. Massive set pieces. Really fun "on rails" moments. Blowing heads of. Shooting limbs of monsters so they have to crawl along the floor. Bliss! Story was quite acceptable aswell. I could talk about this game all the time. Picking out really ace moments. But I don't want to spoil it. Seeing them for the first time made me smile with a huge grin.
