I am showing off now, but I just got, for my birthday, a gorgeous white DS Lite. Happy sigh. With the new mario game. Hurray!

Are you calling the normal DS fat?
I really want one of these. Although I know fine well I'd only play on it for about 3 hours, before putting it in a drawer with my PS2 and Gameboy colour. Curse my short attention span.

Isn't it lovely? I can't believe I dithered for about a month before finally buying one.
Now the thing to do - since Big Brother got so dull - is to get Animal Crossing and disappear into your own little world of talking animals with hats.
I called my character 'Beeny' since the game is all about improving your home and spending money on frivolous items instead of paying off your mortgage.
Oh, and happy birthday to you, smellslikesomeghost!

Thank you. It is indeed a wonderful thing. So small and light, with a more vivid picture than the old DS. I have heard other people say good things about animal crossing but wasn't sure how involved I would get.

It's frightening how easily this cast of cute animals will move in and take over your life. If you let them.
Animal Crossing is intended to be played for about 20 minutes every day (or so I read somewhere). This is why I think it works best on DS than on Gamecube - where switching it on/ taking over the telly for a bit is much more hassle.
Every now and then something will happen that demands your attention for longer and an hour or so will whizz by. Take last night for instance: I came in from work, switched it on and found there was a lush (expensive) crown for sale in my local clothes shop. Obviously I had to have it, so gathering enough cash became my mission for the rest of the evening. Real life, Bad Girls, Big Brother... it was just sort of playing in the background while I sprinted around my tiny town.
If you get into Sims-type games, and are used to writing posts as sad as the one I just have, then yes: buy Animal Crossing.

I was addicted to Animal Crossing on the gamecube. It's weird because when you explain it to people it sounds boring as hell, but it is just such a fabulous game.

I am going to buy a DS Lite soon, hopefully. Aside from Animal Crossing, obviously, which games should I get? Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney looks fun - does anyone know if that's any good?

My essentials are Animal Crossing, Mario Cart, Warioware touched and Maro 64. Very predictable. I love Electroplankton too but it is obnoxious. Is it bad that I already have a DS, but want a nice new black lite one? Just so I can be like the woman on the advert. Ha

I won some money on a premium bond yesterday, and my frankly irresponsible mother said that I should buy one of these instead of putting it into savings. The question is, white or black?
Fuck me, Google shows me that Animal Crossing is amazing.

I went for black, and realised afterwards that I really wanted a white one. My friend went for a white one, and realised afterwards that he really wanted a black one.
To conclude: erm, kittens?

Kittens it is!
Or white, to match my ipod and complexion.
You should swap with your friend. Unless one of you is a bit dirty, with grubby fingers.

I went for pink- same there wasn't a blue one cause that would have matched my ipod and phone.

I might be getting one of these as a present for doing well in exams (providing I do well of course, in fact, if I do shit that means i've got rubbish results AND I don't get a DS lite... god, i'll be depressed for ages.)
I've probably get a black one, to match my phone and Zen mp3 player, and because my friend has a white one and I don't want the same colour. (which is childish, but sort of makes sense.) She did want a black one but the store she got it from only had white ones left and she just couldn't wait. We considered me getting a black one and then doing swaperoos but we decided against it as hers will be right manky by then!
