Now obviously there were countless wii/wee related puns I could go for with respect to this thread title, so I went with the most obvious one.
Today I bought a Nintendo Wii - and I love it! My boyfriend, who has never enjoyed console games can't get enough either.
I'm currently working on a pretty basic package but I have two remotes and two of those nunchuck things things. Can anyone recommend any games for the Wii that are any good?
I have a history of throwing money away on shit games so a little advice on some goodies would be much appreciated.

Whoever thought of actively targeting Nintendo products to teenage girls and gay men was an absolute genius, as is reflected in the sales figures.

Are you including the DS Lite in that, David?

I got a DS Lite yesterday, so I think that's a big ole yes.

I want a DS, but I'm too lazy to go to the shops, and also find the tube adverts offensive, with their presumption that only people in West London could afford one.
I do need to get out more.

Because its my boyfriend who owns it, I get to say "I was playing with his Wii last night." It's a stupid name.

I'd wanted a DS for ages but couldn't quite justify it. Then the ads with Nicole Kidman talking into hers came around, and I saw it as a sign.
I'm using it as an entry drug as the bf is not convinced by the Wii's virtues. As soon as I have him hooked on DS use I'll reintroduce the topic of Wii fun.

I got my DS second hand off eBay. It works fine apart from the other day when I was playing a minigame on New Mario Bros DS which involves blowing into the microphone to make Yoshi's balloon fly when I realised the microphone is broken!

I will be joing the wii generation soon. I'm thinking waving a small stick around will burn off more calories than going to the gym and pretending to use the equipment.

The Wii has become the fastest selling console in the UK ever shifting a million units in 38 weeks. business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/industry_sectors/technology/article2356725.eceMost times I go to shops they don't have Wiis because they've sold out. I'm really happy for Nintendo, because I remember when I used to read GameCube magazine years ago and they were saying Nintendo might have to stop making consoles because it had fallen so far behind the PS2 and Xbox. The DS is selling really well as well isn't it?

It does make your shoulders hurt if you're on it too long, mind.

Well, I still love my Wii - although I have a sneaking suspicion that I might actually be a chav, or at least a chav sympathiser.

I have both and the PS3 is gathering dust. At least for the next few months.

Do you have to have a nice big wall mounted flat tv to appreciate a Wii fully?

Do you have to have a nice big wall mounted flat tv to appreciate a Wii fully? Not at all.

You need a fair bit of space in your living room, though.

I don't know many gays that have £400 to spare on a PS3, let alone a 52" TV.

Slightly older gays are generally loaded though, aren't they? It's the lack of kids demanding food, clothes and toys.

I'm permenantly demanding food, clothes and toys. I blame my inner child. It does the same damage to my bank acccount as real kid, only without the emotional bond and poo-filled nappies.
I reckon I'd be too scared to use my Wii if I had a 42" Plasma. Already, I spend most of my time shouting "Put the fucking wristband on!" at my friends as they attempt to launch projectile Wii-motes around my lounge while bowling.

I don't know many gays that have £400 to spare on a PS3, let alone a 52" TV. Who are these gays? Did they not read the gay handbook that clearly states that your money should be spent on (in order of importance) 1) Clothes 2) Drugs 3) Gadgets 4) Everything else.

I'm one of the gays who spends his money - in this order.
1.) Wine 2.) Alka Seltzer 3.) Food 4.) Books . . . . . . . . 8,974.) Nadine Baggot approved beauty products 8,975.) Clothes
Maybe I didn't get the handbook. I'm always the last to learn these things. Ho hum.

I'm still wii-less, but i've been dropping some very subtle hints to the parents about them getting me one for Xmas. Hints like "BUY ME A WII AND I WONT PUT YOU IN SHADY PINES".

I've just ordered a Wii! Unfortunately I can't afford any games just yet so will have to make do with Wii sports.

We have Carnivale, Sonic Rings and Mario and Sonic Olympics, so far though all anyone wants to do is play wii sports. I had to stop for a sit down after straining myself in tennis, which also hindered my bowling technique.
