Or so I have been told. I know this isn't anything to do with TV ads but it horrified me so much that I had to start a thread somewhere.
While queuing up in my local newsagents to buy a Dairylea Dunker I was informed of this shocking new revelation by a cardboard cut out Santa on the counter.
Just reading this made me die a little inside. I could have cried.
Are we really expected to regard scratch cards as legitimate Christmas gifts now? Would any one actually see them as such?

If I got one and it won me lots of money then i'd be thrilled. My gran has the habit of putting a lottery ticket into every birthday card she sends too.

Do you scratch off the panel and give it to the person it if it wins? Or do you leave it for them to scratch off, giving them the thrill and excitement that only petty gambling can offer?

I assume the latter, I don't think my gran could bare to give a scratch card instead of a lottery ticket, she doesn't like the uncertainty and has to put the same numbers on for herself, and with a scratch card, you can't do it.

We usually have scratch cards put inside crackers. I have never known anyone to win though.

Me and my family give them to each other at Easter.
I'd choose a gambling problem over obesity any day...
