In theory, these adverts should be terrible, but because it's basically Penny Crayon telling me to shop there, they're amazing. If there was a costcutter near me I would actually shop there.

Why say Penny Crayon when you could be saying SU POLLARD? Reducing La Pollard down to one cartoon grossly underestimates her amazing body of work. Think of Hi-de-Hi!, Oh Dr Beeching!, You Rang, M'Lord!, Starting Together!, panto!, Biggins!, etc etc.
Her voice over alone isn't enough for me though. The only way I'd go in Costcutter would be if Su Pollard was there to greet me and carry my basket. While singing Starting Together.

I haven't seen the advert, but I take it doesn't actually feature the cartoon character Penny Crayon? That's a shame, it would be quite good to see her revived after all these years shopping at Costcutter- sort of like an "after they were famous" thing.
Su Pollard has of course done much, much more than Penny Crayon, but it was probably the first example of her work I ever saw.

Which is quite sad considering it is an advert that isn't an M&S Christmas one.
