If the last "Want respect? Use a condom" advert wasn't bad enough this one is even worse and more ridiculous.
The "Your condoms or mine" line makes me cringe every time I hear it. I hate the way she says it as well. Firstly it's really weird and a bit creepy. Secondly no teenager would actually say that. Thirdly it doesn't make wearing a condom seem at all cool at all.
Next time I have sex I might try that line.

Next time I have sex I might try that line. Only if you want it to be the last time as well. I just can't really imagine who is being influenced by these adverts. There is absolutely zero peer pressure about wearing one and no matter how many chavvy gangs they show acting otherwise you won't lose your friends if you pop it in the village bike without a condom. They're more likely to take the piss out of you knobbing the the village bike.

I kind of wish they were more forthright about the whole thing. Just a piece to camera of someone saying, 'Wear a condom you stupid teenage pondscum. Otherwise she'll give you the clap and you'll get her pregnant. The pill does not stop STIs. Withdrawal is not a reliable method. Wear a fucking condom.'
Rather than being all 'lolz! c0nd0mz r teh awesome!'

I think they tried that approach in the past, and thought that instead of lecturing teenagers, they'd try and push the condom agenda on their level. However, the ad makers have got it completely wrong, the whole thing about 'respect' is just a load of shit. It's like they've noticed that the yoof use the word "respect" a lot and think it means the same thing as normal adult respect, but it doesn't. "Yoof respect" is gained from a good happy slap clip on your phone or an ASBO, or having sex full stop, not from wearing condoms.

I think they'd be better off just saying "Use a condom you irresponsible arsewipes!" no ifs or buts or 'cool' attempts to reach out at the yoof.
Maybe have condoms sponsor some yoof tv... though I've no idea what that is...
Hollyoaks/Jeremy Kyle would be brilliant product placement. If they could be 'sponsored' by durex there'd be not only a cruel irony but also a 'real' consequence portrayed. But the inserts wouldn't be as cringeworthy as the current ads, just a simple "Hollyoaks is sponsored by durex condoms" no stupid tagline, no yoofs getting 'respect', just a message of "use a condom".
If anything I find the "rnt cndms kewl? yeh! LOLZ!!!111 We haz no babeez n no STIz" is convincing the yoof not to wear them.

Hollyoaks knows how to deal with sexual health - yes, with a Hollyoaks Comedy STI Storyline®.
Talking of the 'Oaks, has anyone had AIDS in it yet? I think that'll be the logical conclusion to the Fletch 'n' Sacha story.
Month 1: Weed Month 2: Heroin Month 3: AIDS

I agree that it's a load of shit. I also think that having a condom company sponsoring yoof tv might work a little bit as well.
Though the most effective method would surely be the previously suggested "Use a condom you arsewipe!" thing. That'd be fine after the watershed, wouldn't it? Go for it, advertisers...

They should give them away for free in schools at the start of every week, then all the kids that are sleeping with each other would start carrying them around to show off their burgeoning sexuality. Before you know it everyone would want them.
