Daniel Kitson. By a fucking mile.
His prepared material isn't the most coherent. He is shambolic, obviously. And he loves awkward silences - draws them out, draws on them, challenges everything and everyone. But he is just effortlessly brilliant. So quick, so sharp, so aggressive, and so, so, so funny.

The best thing I saw was Monica Lewinsky getting out of a limo in front of the Caledonian Hotel on Saturday afternoon. She is very beautiful and much taller than you'd expect. Very glam too. I wonder what it's like to go through life when everyone's first thought about you is "you gave Bill Clinton a blow job". Makes me lament more innocent times...
She's in town for the telly festival which is clearly the best part of the festival, but as flum has pointed out, us mere plebs can't get in, boo!
I also say Christian Slater in Princes Street. He is quite wee and his hair looked very dirty.

Had lowculture not been in limbo I would have bought out the theatre for everyone to see the all male version of 'Sweet Charity' a couple of years ago (easy to say now). Jaw droppingly fantastic with people forgetting lines and those who remembered unable to deliver them, an opening scene of 'Hey Big Spender' set in a gents toilet, and an all nude 'Rhythm of Life' in a gay sauna, it was one not to be missed. I saw it on it's last night when it had been so badly panned by critics that the cast had obviously thought, 'stuff it' and camped it up no end and encouraged Rocky Horror style audience participation. A true gem of lowcultureness.
