For any of you Midlands-based Lowculturers out there, does anyone remeber this genius radio show hosted by Samantha Meah on BBC Radio WM, Sunday nights circa the early 90s...? It was amazing - hilariously funny (although lots of the banter was meaningless chatter a la Chris Moyles, the difference with Sam was you didnt automatically want to physically maim her and her mates every time she opened her mouth), fabulous music (she intoduced me to St Etienne, Army of Lovers and played SAW-era Kylie without a trace of "post-modern irony"), and a wonderful way to dispell that awful "back to school" Sunday feeling of dread.
I was slightly obsessed by her shows (used to tape them and listen to them repeatedly throughout the weeK) and cried when she announced she was leaving (to move to TalkRadio...but that didnt last very long)
Anyone else remember this broadcasting legend?!

Sure do. Top show on a most unlikely station which is more associated with the Ed Doolan show and other such low brow shite we're subjected to in the provinces. This was from the same era as Ian Perry's Midnight Line on Beacon Radio - anyone remember that? The most bizzare set of regular phone in guests but compulsive listening.

I can remember Jezza's Late Night Love on BRMB from my teens. It was laughably bad even then - apart from the time someone from our school phoned up and asked about STDs.

I remember both of these - did the Beacon radio one guy used to open with "Okey Dokey me old Culture Lovers" or summat? Very bizarre mix of callers - I recall there was a camp old Dudley dweller called The Captain who used to call the host "duckie" a lot.
Jezza of course of Jeremy Kyle fame - he was a right ***t even then.
