I noticed straight away! It's a bit like someone had come in during the night and moved your ornaments. It looks the same but you know there's a change.
Got very excited with what looked like new posts everywhere, but it seemed my cookies had been wiped and everything looked like it had new posts.
Has the birthday section been wiped, or is it just that no one is celebrating today?

I'm not so keen on the bottom navigation where you have to TYPE IN the page number you want to go to, or the blue fadey strips. But otherwise, business as usual.
There are no birthdays today.

Sorry if you're finding the changes a bit annoying - it was a compulsory upgrade so there wasn't really anything I could do about it! There's an even bigger upgrade coming in late summer, so watch out for that.

Mind you, saying that, the last seemingly big upgrade they did we got a chat room and now I can't think how we lived without it.

The next version features lots of exciting things, including auto-saving of posts, blogs and messageboards all in the same place, threaded conversations in your PM box, that "look inside" thing that shows you a preview of a thread when you hover over it, youtube video embedding in posts, and better spoiler tagging.
There's also loads of admin-side stuff like thread splitting and merging and more options for defining user groups - so, for example, there could be groups for people who only want to see spoilers for certain shows instead of the all-or-nothing option we have now.
I should add that these are ProBoards upgrades, nothing to do with me, so the roll-out of them is completely outwith my control.

Oooooh. That sounds good. Well, in theory anyway.
But will the forum be down for several hours? If so, they better not schedule it during appointed LC telly viweing hours.

Oooh, i like it. When I came on the forum last night it was down and I wondered why.

I haven't actually noticed any improvements. In fact when I click on 'New' now it takes me to the beginning of the thread rather than to the latest postings. I'm not keen on the youtube video embedding in posts as it often slows things right down.

At the bottom of the main page there is a "mark as read" option that will clear the blue arrows off all the boards.

Sorry, that wasn't in response to your last post. I meant, in general, to stop the board from saying everything is new.

My exact reaction was "Ooooooooooh" and I do like. I like the blue.

I do too, and it looks great next to the pink.

The blue is a lovely colour, though it seems a bit bright (probably because of the white background of the page) to me, but that's probably just as I need to get used to it.

Actually, the new 'search' is great. Usually you can make a cup of tea whilst a search is taking place. I did one today to check there wasn't already a thread on something, and it came back within seconds.

The blue is growing on me although I don't like the fadey effect that much. I first saw it on an uber-bright work monitor, though, and it was rather scary.
I'm disappointed that the chat room doesn't seem to have gained any random new features.

I have just discovered that we don't have to have the gradients at all! Any strong preferences either way?

I don't. But I wouldn't call it a strong preference. More a leaning.

There seems to be a lot more people on line since the board has upgraded.

There seems to be a lot more people on line since the board has upgraded. There's now an extra box showing who has been online in the last 24 hours, as well as the one showing who's online at the moment. You can get rid of either by clicking on the big red X beside them.
