Are all ringtones incredibly annoying or can you have a custom one without looking a div? What ringtone does your phone have? My vibration is really awful and as a result my friends get annoyed as I never answer my phone. Advice would be gratefully received.

I used Ambiant Mood on the motorola becuase it's very soothing and chilled. It's not very loud, though, and i never answer the phone.

I made my own ringtone of the opening moments of Graffiti My Soul 3 years ago and still have it on there. It's fairly easy to download some software and make a ringtone out of an mp3.

I have Intergalactic by the Beastie Boys. I've had it on for years and am just too lazy to change it. Yes, my mobile is rather old now. I am thinking of getting a new one but I'm just really not a fan of them and use mine as little as possible. I'd love to get rid of it altogether but I don't want to be a social outcast.

I have the opening piano riff from Shoot down by The Prodigy.
Firstly because it sounds like a ring tone anyway and secondly cos it is IMMENSE.

I tried to do the internet mp3 thing and I failed hopelessly.

I just have a dead boring normal one. I was at a friends for dinner yesterday, and talked turned to ringtones (wow, how dull does that sound). I felt ashamed at my dead boring normal ringtone, so today I've been thinking how the beginning to Verka Seduchka's Dancing Lasha Tumbai from last year's Eurovision would make a good ringtone.
If you're interested in hearing more about my ringtone adventure, please press hash, let me know.

I just pick a bit of an mp3 and trim it with Audacity "]http://audacity.sourceforge.net/] which I think is for home recording but if you just want to cut the rubbish bits out of songs with it, it's easy. I generally pick instrumentally bits of songs- i had the middle of "Let's Make Love and Listen Death From Above" for a while, then a bit of "Lloyd, I'm Ready to Be Heartbroken" but that got annoying. My default ringtone when I've run out of ideas is the intro of "What Can I Do" by the Corrs. It's a bit embarassing but I'm used to it now and it cuts through background noise well.

I have the start of an mp3 of You Know My Name by Chris Cornell. The good thing about Bond themes is they have really huge opening notes which tend to grab my attention. Otherwise I totally tune it out.

I have a ring-ring noise. I don't like ringtones. Although obviously I'm pleased everyone else has them or we'd all be confused.

My ringtone is technically a proper full blown song (Can I Get Get Get by Junior Senior) but I refuse to ever put my phone off vibrate, it just feels right to me to not have everyone hear when I get a message, plus the text sounds are always shit. I just use the ringtone for my alarm in the morning. Well, my second, "really, get the fuck up" alarm.

Someone in Habitat the other day had their ringtone set to the tone that I use for my morning alarm. It was so surreal, for a second I was genuinely confused. It brought up that feeling of not wanting to get up and I couldn't understand why it was going off. Then I realised. "LOL"
My ringtone is the opening bit from Guillemots Kriss Kross and my friend always asks why I've got the Star Wars theme as my ringtone. Bloody Gays.

I used to have Can't Get You Out Of My Head on mine, but I took it off when I fell asleep on the train and it rang. Two hot men in suits had to wake me up and were laughing at the silly gay with Kylie on his phone.
I now have ring ring, but this thread has inspired me to make a change.
I actually want the Jack Bauer CTU one though.

I have an mp3 of the Blankety-Blank theme for my main ringtone, which announces "And here is your host, Le....eees Daaawson!" just before going to voicemail. When my parents call, it rings with the Terry & June theme. When a particularly smutty friend calls, it's the Benny Hill chasing music and my alarm in the morning is the soothing theme from Button Moon, which begins with a lovely wakey uppy noise. My text message alert is the de-dit-doo-doo bit from the beginning and end of the old Grange Hill theme. (Which I edited down myself and of which I will always be proud and will never share)

Someone I used to work with had that excruciating ringtone that's just a female voice singing "ring ring ring!" He never put his phone onto silent in the office and it drove me nuts.
My phone came with some nifty software for importing MP3s over to store on the phone, and the sound quality is really excellent, so I use one of those. At the moment I've got 'Potential Breakup Song' by Aly and AJ.

So that anyone hearing your phone go off knows you don't believe in evolution?

This is mine! It even plays the video. Problem is I have to watch it, and leave it ringing for ages whilst I titter with glee....
