[Rant/]I really really dislike the Sharks, they seem to think they are the shit, and for some reason think they deserve to win more than the Tigers. The Tigers just seem so much more genuine and family like and Joseph was talking out of his arse when he said they were too close, he excluded himself by being a self righteous twunt and then blamed them.[/End rant]
For someone who doesn't do reality tv much, I'm worryingly invested in this, shouting at the telly and all!

Tigers will win won't they? It's always the underdog.

Although I've been vaguely watching both Shipwrecked shows this year, I'm not sure I would have stuck with it had not been for the Hawks. Overall, they've been so optimistic, cooperative and generally up for it, it's been quite heartwarming. The producers must have been pissed off, though. They surely put contestants in such 'harsh' conditions in order to create conflict?
I can barely remember the names of those on the other islands. They just fall into the 'types' we've seen countless times in previous years (the Scouse one, the pretty one, the Essex lad, the camp one, the rich arrogant one, the other pretty one, etc). I really don't care who wins as long as Char, James, Nick, Diva, Mike, Rowen, etc, are happy at the end.
I must admit, I had hoped there would be more pwning of the Tigers/Sharks by the Hawks this week. In particular, I was expecting great things from 'Survival Expert Nick' who did a great line in witty, fairly justified bitching back on Hawk Island.

I felt quite emotional last week watching Nick, James and Char on the beach at 4.30am having their personal chat and watching their last sunrise together on 'Hawk island'. I still want Char and Nick to fall in love and marry. James, of course, can be best man and Rowan with his kooky hair can be page boy. Nick was obviously there from the start for a specific purpose. But the grace, dignity, positive optimism and attitudes shown throughout and in particular by Char and James, has, for me anyway, been the main factor in making this pretty compulsive viewing. Those two have so obviously had a genuinely invaluable life changing experience which they probably value more than anything else, but I'd still like to see them triumph ultimately.

Does it make me a bad person that I find it brilliant fun watching the sharks cry?

Hell no, I was revelling in it. They weren't half sore losers as well.

Pity though that the producers didn't realise that it was all about Char, James and Nick, and give them a 'what happened next' update at the end.
But it was great nevertheless. And yes, the Hawks made it for me too.

God, Lauren was annoying to the very end. I didn't like her from pretty much the beginning when she manipulated the lovely Diva. Way to be sore fucking losers Sharks. Tigers deserved it; but Hawks were easily the best island (esp. Char, Nick, James, Diva and Rowan who I think is so sweetly selfless and kind).

I did watch with some incredulity at the end when she went on about how she'd changed (which was then backed up with the 'what Lauren did next' flash); she still grated on me and showed little if no sign of change, development or (lord forbid) A Journey. It probably doesn't need saying. but she was my least favourite islander. And Rowan, I do remember his pecs joy at discovering the Hawks and the fact that he'd been sent to "Survival Island" (TM Char and James, 2008). I think that those, like him, who wanted more than a holday in the sun and to play games, got so much more out of the experience that the others. Two random thoughts: 1) After the third-islanders all chose Tigers, I wanted them to rename the group the Tiger-Hawks and become a super-tribe developing super powers and potentially massacring the Sharks. Or just Lauren. But alas no. 2) I'd like to live with Char, James and Nick in a happy, but slightly unconventional, family. Dale and Stuart from BB can come visit when they're evicted.

God, the first half of that was dull: "I hope we win" ... "I'm worried we won't win" ... "I think we'll win"... GET ON WITH IT!
As I'd hoped, the Hawks all got a happy ending (apart from the moany boy who was only a Hawk for 2 days anyway), which is the main thing. I was surprised it was such a landslide, although less so after seeing what obnoxious losers the Sharks were. Tom, of all people, was the best sport. I guess he's Been On A Journey. Plus he's clearly loaded and not in need of the prize money.
Lauren - a model? Really? Still, if having 12 people reject you in one go doesn't instill a bit of self awareness, nothing will. Why on earth didn't we get a little update on each of the Hawks?
My final Shipwrecked 08 thought: The fact that the third island was populated in the most part by such lovely people could almost make be believe in fate. Imagine if the original two to go over were, say, Tom and Faith, if Lauren hadn't screwed Diva over, etc. Survival Expert Nick would probably have built himself a raft and escaped by week three, leaving them all to starve.

So I was the only one that actually wanted the Sharks to win then ?
I did love the Hawks the most but then when they all voted for the Tigers I was extremely disappointed in them - especially in Lovely James. The shame.
I was clearly more caught up in this programme than I thought which is quite mad considering I didn't see it for a month in the middle of it !
