I remained convinced throughout my teenage years that every episode of The X Files was called 'The Truth Is Out There', because it appeared every week at the end of the titles. It took me much longer than it should to realise it was just part of the title sequence.

I actually began biting my nails in that trailer, and I haven't bitten my nails since I was 15. The music is actually too exciting. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh.
I saw the poster when I saw Sex & The City and freaked out a bit because from the distance it looked like Mulder & Scully were holding hands, which would have been... Bizarre. And wrong. Luckily, it was just fucking with me.

Watching that made me realise how much I miss The X Files (the mid 90s was such a good time for sci-fi) and even though the film may well end up being terrible, I am still really excited about it.

I've got mixed feelings about this.
I loved the X Files when it was on. But by series three, my interest was waning. I got sick of the "Alien conspiracy" storyline, and how they kept changing their minds about the story, and relating all the characters to each other. Series Three was the last good one before it all started to go wrong.
I hated the first movie. It was like a TV special. And not even a good one at that.
The X Files was always strongest when it featured some bizarre independent story about a creature/cult/virus or something. When I saw the leaked photos for this film and it had animals that REALLY looked like Werewolves, I got quite excited about it, hoping it was a return to the random stories and a scary one at that. But then they admitted those pictures were fake, and that this film would probably feature something about the bloody aliens again. Since then, I've not been that bothered about it.
The trailer looks ok, but doesn't really make me believe it'll be any good.

On the other hand it does seem to feature a rather extensive amount of Billy Connolly.
