I don't normally watch this show, but it was on before "Supersizers go... " and I caught the last 15 mins.
So painfully bad it wasn't even fun. Three of the most wooden actors ever? Flashback narration while a guy confesses the story to a priest? Doctor just walking in to save the day at the end? bad bad bad. No acting involved, just characters walking around baldly stating their motivations.
The hero doctor at the end was quite good though. Nice guns. Though it's a shame his voice was completely incongruous. It sounded like he should be in a period drama and/or the voice of Aslan the lion.
Patsy Kensit is crap, Patsy Kensit is crap, Patsy Kensit is crap. There's more animation in a corpse.
Apologies if there is already a thread or if I have ruined everything by insulting Patsy Kensit, but she's rubbish and I'm new.

Does anyone know anyone that actually watches either Holby City or Casualty? I genuinely don't know anyone that watches and certainly not anyone who enjoys/takes an interest in it.

I'd just like to say it was on on Monday in Scotland so we could get River City last night.
I've nothing to add about it as I didn't actually watch it but I do like that one of the actors is called POW, he should be Batman.

How many of the staff are in South Africa. Surely Holby General can't handle a migration of so many of their best staff?

I watch it, not religiously; it is quite shit. But I like looking at the prickly Scottish doctor. I watch Casualty as well-it's much better though that's not saying much...

I stopped watching Holby years ago, but got back into Casualty after Nick promoted it on the front page. That's all it takes to get me to watch anything pretty much.

It's always just came across (to me at least) as one of those programmes that supposedly gets loads of viewers but you don't actually know anyone that watches it. That probably doesn't make any sense but I do wonder where all these viewers lurk. Maybe people just don't admit to it.

It is a bit like Emmerdale in that no-one really admits to regularly watching it and yet it still gets massive ratings. Conversely, there are some shows that everyone claims to watch and yet has terrible ratings. In short: I don't think ratings reflect quality or fanbase.

What James is saying is true.
I don't know a single person who watches, has watched or plans to watch an episode of Waking The Dead, The Bill, Holby/Casualty, Midsomer Murders, JAM & JERUSALEM(!) and yet they manage to survive series after series.

Lots of people here watch Jam and Jerusalem, there's a thread somewhere.

Coach Trip got good ratings for both series but was cancelled because there was no where else in Europe for them to "trip" to.

What's worse is I know several people who admit to watching My Family regularly and contrubute to it's neverending renewal. We are no longer friends.

I watched the first series of "My Family" and found it actually quite good, if circular comedy (it lacked edge).
I thik 10 series of basically the same episode is pushing it a bit though.

Its required television for student nurses not least because we can point out the mistakes. Though only Holby City. I never saw the point of watching both.

Now that's not fair. Midsomer Murders is completely genius.
