This has to be something that wasn't on the air before the other boards went all fucky the year before last.
OH THIS IS REALLY HARD. ITV's "The Chase"?

I think we should draw a veil over American Torchwood. Although it sounds like Rusty might have been going through a lot at the time.

According to the LC Twitter, the other forum died in June 2011 if that helps people.
Hasn't pretty much everything new since then been period drama? Or The Voice? I don't want to resort to saying Call the Midwife, because it's fine and everything, but there must be something better...

I'd say "Call The Midwife" is a decent shout. I thought about making this thread but it's made me realise that most of the stuff I like has been around SURPRISINGLY LONG. Miranda, Bake Off, Downton, Modern Family... INNOVATION PLEASE, TELLY.
I really don't watch a lot of American stuff, which doesn't help. There must be more than one good telly programme gracing our screens for the first time since mid 2011.

Game of Thrones? Were we discussing that before board meltdown?
Sky's been putting out quite a bit of their own stuff, Stella, Mount Pleasant and that other one with Lesley Sharp and Brendan Coyle.

Stella is great. And Julia Davies' Hunderby was bloody marvelous.

(First up, IT'S BAAAAAACK!! Woo-hoo, etc.)
In terms of the best shows since we last used these boards, I'd put forward Campus, Stella, Homeland, The Cafe, Twenty Twelve, Game of Thrones, Trollied, and more recent entries in the form of Utopia and My Mad Fat Diary.
I'm sure there's something more Lowcultural that I'm forgetting - something along the lines of Splash, but less like televised genocide.

I didn't watch the first series of Stella, but I'd heard good things about it so I series-linked the second one. I watched the first episode the other day, and thought it was kind of dull. Was that just an off-episode, or is it not going to be my sort of thing if I didn't like that one?

Not a 'Best' at all, but I'm rather fond of the not-a-comedy-not-a-drama-not-really-anything Aussie import, 'Winners & Losers'. Oh, and for some reason, I also got caught up in 'The Almighty Johnsons'.

It's not a huge, punchline-reliant comedy... quite gentle, and sort of relies on familiarity with the characters a bit. I'd say give it another episode or two, although I'm not sure how that's turn out, as I'm only two episodes into the second series myself.

I forgot about Teen Wolf, now featuring the immortal Bianca Lawson. Also, Pretty Little Liars went full on batshit.

I enjoyed Gok Wans Baggage but I suspect thats because I only watched it when drunk and made snide asides about the contestants.
Oh I missed you guys during White Heat last year, probably the worst written and directed "big" drama that the BBC have done in decades.
