There was a 'One Month Later' caption about ten minutes in. I suspect some rejigging has happened because of Hagman's death, but I could well be wrong.

Ah, that'll teach me to pour a drink during the show - although thinking about it, it does make more sense considering the bump also suddenly makes an appearance.

They need to fix the green screen as a matter of urgency. Spoilers for episode six (the most recent episode at US pace): Loved the single (final?) JR scene - just a bit of fluff but fun all the same, especially the IM exchange with Bobby (all clearly added later, of course, but still). Of course his exit is off screen, what else could be done? Is this the reinserted deleted scene from an earlier episode that was previously mentioned by the producers?
I think you can feel the changes made as a result of JR's disappearance - I suspect that Vincente's reappearance serves some padding purpose here, and I definitely feel that Sue Ellen has been given his story, and some of his lines. Her discussion with Bobby about the nature of his relationship with JR would have been great coming from Hagman.

Episode seven: We have a new JR, but it isn't John Ross - it's Ryland's mother, Judith. Love her.
It's distracting working out where the JR scenes have come from, but what can you do? C5 claimed that episode six was his last appearance so this was all a pleasant surprise. The one in the car seemed like a deleted scene from elsewhere (as had previously been hinted) but the one in the bar, while looking the same as some of the Vegas scenes from S1, directly referenced the current plot so can't have been. The final phone conversation was an awkward patchwork of different sentences that often didn't match JR's mouth movements, but again, there's no choice and it was a nice sentiment to keep him at the centre of the plot. I wonder if this car/methane stuff was designed for earlier episodes, then got swapped with some of the trial in order to preserve JR's presence? I'm also more certain than ever that they have given Sue Ellen a story designed for JR.
My eyes do glaze over at mention of methane but I'm still really enjoying the show.

Terrible cliche in Episode 6, the one on 5 last night-
The bad guy has the Ewings held hostage in Southfork and is going to kill them all but at the vital moment he leaves to make his escape by helicopter, a helicopter that has only just arrived and which isnt going anywhere, thus leaving the Ewings to his henchmen. Christopher and John Ross then proceed to start a fake fight that allows them, and 70 year old Bobby, to overpower said henchmen and ends with the chief bad guy shot dead just as he's about to kill Christopher.
Actually come to think of it thats three terrible cliches,
1 - the bad guy who leaves it to people rather than just shooting them all dead right there and then and 2 - the henchmen who are all moody and eager to kill whilst the boss is there but as soon as he is out the door they are overpowered within 30 seconds, normally whilst trying to do something stupid like moving the people you are going to kill 3 - the bad guy is just about to kill the hero when he's killed from off screen
And why didnt he bullet hit Christopher? it clearly goes through Vincente.

My eyes do glaze over at mention of methane but I'm still really enjoying the show. As the demise of JR was so clearly known in advance the big shock of the episode for me was that Valene and Gary have split again - well I say shock but they seemed to split up every 3 weeks in the original Knots Landing.
And Ted Shackleford in dallas, yah!

Episode nine: Blimey, this really is a different Cliff Barnes. I can just - just - buy that he might have been driven mad by the rivalry in his old age. Actually, I was more shocked by him being so rude at JR's funeral than I was when he blew up the rig. I wondered for a while why this episode seemed to be treading water, but obviously this was a deliberate choice. Anyway, great fun again.

Oh, and who do we reckon killed JR? I think he did it himself, perhaps as a way to force Pam out of the woodwork (wishful thinking?), and knowing he was dying. Or, the same as above, but the motivation being that he wants to frame Cliff.
Surely these mentions of Pam are going somewhere..?

Latest US episodes: Where are they going with this Pam Ewing business? Hasn't Principal ruled out a return, or is that a big bluff? Surely not (another) recast?

I've only seen the first of this weeks US episodes but I think they are actually going to pull the rug from under us in the last episode and that "Pamela" in Switzerland will actually turn out to be her sister Katherine . For no other reason than they mentioned in passing that she was dead but this is Dallas and I dont believe them.

Fantastic finale. Good to hear that it'll probably be back for a third season next year (although it may be moving back to summer).

Just dont tell my wife.
Loved the fact that the Pam plot ended up revolving around four lines or so from an episode 25 years ago.
