It's a shame there's only 4 episodes this time around, but next week's season finale looks marvellous.
Polly Walker has been amazing, and deserves a much higher profile than she has. And Pippa Haywood has been so good. Polly's daughter is none other than Sally Webster's real life daughter.
When it comes to the kiddy fiddling plot, in a post Savile world I can't imagine the guy being anything other than guilty as sin, as the BBC wouldn't dare have a show with a plot where a kid lies about being abused, would they? I did think the scene with the scrummy mummy on the sofa rang untrue.

My husband wonders why I watch this as no one ends up happy but I'm just gripped. To be honest I couldn't take more than four episodes.

I think six episodes would be better. Pippa Haywood's character's house is on my street - although I don't live in a nice big house like that myself.
It's nice to see a drama with really meaty female roles in it.
