Despite the fact I sew a bit myself - usually on a Sunday with the Archers Omnibus/Elaine Paige on in the background for the full eccentric-spinster-in-training experience - I wasn't sure this would work as a spectator sport, but I actually rather enjoyed it. I was glad Steampunk Lorry Driver pulled it back, I love the mental image of him and his wife knocking up Victorian outfits in front of the telly together while the dog sits between them.

I really like this, even though I don't give any shits about sewing in real life (because I CANNOT DO IT no matter how hard I try). But they never updated us on the woman who went home sick, did they?

I'm more at the cushion and bag stage than clothes, but it turns out Stewart lives quite near me (someone at work has done his keep-fit class), so maybe I can track him down and force him to give me lessons. I don't know how it's doing in the ratings, but I do think it's probably a bit too niche to really take off Bake Off-style.
They did gloss over that woman leaving - shame, as her car-print skirt (which I liked) and her fraggly altered top (which I didn't) suggested she would have made some weird and wonderful stuff.

A worthy winner. And it's back for another series too. Meanwhile Patrick Grant is in America and tweeting some odd stuff about being a "Jet Set Willy" and something about "bisexuality"
And that's all I need frankly.
