Considering we're supposed to be moving towards an age where everyone's watching TV on the internet at a time that suits them, I would really like to know why all the services that are supposed to allow us to do so legitimately are SO FUCKING SHIT. Every single time that I think one of them is officially the worst, one of the others does something so mind-numbingly idiotic that it overtakes again. Case in point: tonight, 4oD only uploaded half of a programme, so I sat through a fucking ad break only to come back and get about 20 seconds of content before the programme finished, in the middle of a scene.

ITV Player is always going to win this. Always. Luckily, STV Player has most of the shows and is less of a bastard and with fewer adverts and is all in SCOTTISH, so you can learn a new language while you 'view'.

I'd rather email Auntie Torrence and ask her to put a dvd in a jiffy than watch something on ITV player.
Have never had any problems with BBC iPlayer, and rarely use 40D. And I had no idea 5 had a catch up service.

4OD was appalling when it started (and you needed a login) but, excessive number of ads aside, seems OK now. Never had a problem with iPlayer. But ITV Player... there's always the fear of being stuck in an endless ad loop again.

I loathe itvplayer. The BBC iplayer is an example of how to do it right. The live rewind is genius as is the fact it is now on my Sky box.

I'm going to be controversial here and say that I think ITV Player is actually a lot better than it used to be. It's still not perfect, but it's been giving me a lot less trouble than 4oD has lately. iPlayer is probably still the best, but I've been soured on it slightly since the Desktop Thingy went bonkers on me last year and deleted all my downloads, including several shows that I wasn't able to get back. And also for the fact that I have to switch browsers to download stuff on it at the moment because they can't make it work with Chrome.

I don't seem to be able to vote on tablet but itv player both on tablet and pc only let me watch up to the first advert break on Broadchurch then kept relooping back to the start and stv player wouldn't let me use it at all. But 4od, iplayer and demand five all have freezing, crashing or various other issues too. 4od, for instance refuses to work on my work pc altogether.

4OD just served us the same Ribena ad three times in one break. And then crashed. And why do these commercial services think it's clever to have some sort of interactive element? "choose your option" which means I have to get up from the sofa and go to the computer to select stuff.

Oh, I hate those. If I'm watching stuff on my laptop, it's usually because I'm doing the washing up or something like that, so they waste so much bloody time.

I seldom watch anything on ITV due to not having the amount of patience required for the ads and constant buffering that comes with attempting to use their catch up service.
I deleted and re-downloaded 4OD for tablet and now need a log in to use it which I don't think I have ever needed before. It's the ads that are the killer for both though and I suppose no improvements will be able to make that torture end.
