Was I hallucinating or did tonight's E4 episode have the previous version of the titles?

I started watching Hollyoaks again the other day - and the day after, Paul announced lowculture was returning. Seeing as I joined here because of Hollyoaks, it's clearly A SIGN. Anyway, looks like Tom almost killed someone else he loves and there was almost a rape today. So business as usual in Chester, then?
(Also: why is Jeremy Sheffield in the credits when the other mums/dads aren't usually? Is he a dad? I don't actually know who he is playing - or indeed who half the characters in the credits are as they haven't been in it in my week-ish of being back watching it)

Hang on, Jeremy Sheffield's in Hollyoaks now? God, I really am out of the loop these days.

Jeremy Sheffield is Dodger's secret dad. He's the regulation Hollyoaks FitDad these days.
I've never stopped watching Hollyoaks. I am available for questioning.

Holyoaks has got so very Lowculture-ish lately (Myra's "the shadow" , Psychotic Mercedes and her loopy murdering Doctor Death who just fight and have sex in a repetitive loop, every other character being a gay), perfect timing! I originally only started watching it because of the thread on here, been lurking at Digital Spy but it's nowhere near as fun.

I've not watched Hollyoaks properly in ages, although I did go back briefly for the Final Destination wedding carnage. If they could only kill Jono or bring in an elderly spinster to play Cindy's adolescent daughter every week I'd be an avid viewer but those episodes were, unfortunately, a flash in the pan and I've all but lost interest. Anyone care to comment on the return of John-Paul, or has he been swept up on the tedious Ste/Doug/Brendan bumming carousel just like I feared he would?

They did kill Jono! In the Final Destination-style wedding carnage.

Anyone care to comment on the return of John-Paul, or has he been swept up on the tedious Ste/Doug/Brendan bumming carousel just like I feared he would? He hasn't been in it since I started rewatching properly this week - and what is going on with Ste/Doug/Brendan? I saw Final Destination wedding carnage but that was the first thing I'd seen in a couple of years and the last before this week and I have no idea. And where is Amy? Is Ste the kids' main carer now? And how come Tom hasn't aged?

Doug and Ste got married but Doug left him at the airport so he could see if he really loved Brendan. He did.
Amy has gone to University so Ste has the kids.
Tom had his thirteenth Birthday party last week. It made me feel old.

Hang on, Jeremy Sheffield's in Hollyoaks now? God, I really am out of the loop these days. 8 years ago he was in The Wedding Date with Amy Adams, Jeremy is now in Hollyoaks whilst Amy has been nominated for 4 Oscars. God I love The Wedding Date.

I've not seen it since John Paul came back, but didn't he have vestsex with Brendan in his very first episode or something? Also, the Doug/Ste/Brendan thing is such a mess, and Ste/Brendan attracted one of those creepy fanbases who think it's SO ROMANTIC instead of violent and unhealthy. Is Doug even still around? I liked him, he deserved better.

I'm not a fan of the Doug/Ste/Brendan thing either. I think it's been bad for all three characters and I hate all three of them a bit now. Ste seems like an entitled airhead who strings people along because he's incapable of not being in a relationship, and apparently his only two options are Brendan, an abusive psycho and Doug, a soggy doormat.
I think the thing I enjoyed most about Hollyoaks last year was Mercedes going batshit round-the-twist flibble bibble my old man's a mushroom all that's missing is the Napoleon hat insane. That and Maddie reaching the peak of her utter cuntishness being followed swiftly by a Final Destination-style demise.

Has Ste's voice got about 80% camper in the past couple of years, or is it just me?
Why is Ruby living with the Osbornes?

John Paul and Brendan had vestsex in Hollyoaks later. Ste caught them in bed.
Ruby lives with the Osbournes because her brother is Duncan Button who was the fat light relief for a while. He was an Ashworth cousin but they all went to Spain and the Osbournes took him in. Ruby ran away from home and was also adopted by the Osbournes. Duncan has since gone back to somewhere.

And Gillian Taylforth is going to be in it. It's beginning to be the place old soap stars end up (and seems to be the better for it - the worst scene by far last night was the Dodger/Will/Theresa scene of pointlessness)

Mitzeee probably deserved a more memorable and certainly less rushed exit. It was nothing out of the ordinary, but I kind of liked some of it. The tearful goodbyes with her sister and Nancy, and that she looked fabulous before going into the taxi (though she left in the taxi twice for some reason, once in the show, and then again after the end credits. I'm glad she made it out alive anyway, there have been so many characters getting killed off in Hollyoaks over the past year, and I think OMGSHOCKDEATHS are a bit short sighted. There are lots more departures rumoured. Is Kirkwood trying a scorched earth policy to get it back to what it was when he was last in charge? I am looking forward to a clear out of most of the rumoured ones to be leaving and to Dame Divine and Gillian Taylforth arriving. Brendan going will at least mean that the irritating never ending domestic abuse iz twoo wuv Ste and Brendan storyline will finally end. They will probably put Ste in yet another conveyer belt love triangle though. I've lost patience with Ste generally, he's a moron, frankly.
Others rumoured to be going include Cheryl, Dennis, Leanne and Liberty. I won't be sorry to see any of them go to be honest. Dennis and Leanne are one-joke comic relief characters, and neither were as funny as Liberty's atrocious acting. She's hilariously bad even for Hollyoaks. As for Cheryl, like Ste while the acting is OK, I've lost patience with the character.
In other news, Alice Barlow who played Rae of Newt's Imaginary Goth Girlfreind/TWIST!She exists but is a chav, lolz/Ste Love Triangle #892/Ste Love Triangle #995/DJ Barbie/Gory Hollyoaks Later Death 2011 fame has auditioned for the second series of The Voice. I always quite liked Rae, so I might watch The Voice this time.

My favourite character is being written out: www.digitalspy.ie/soaps/s13/hollyoaks/news/a460521/hollyoaks-claire-cooper-leaving-jacqui-mcqueen-role.html That's three of my favourites leaving in fairly quick succession (the other two being Brendan and Mitzeee). But at least this frees up Claire Cooper to appear in better projects. I've been really enjoying Hollyoaks consistently this year like others have mentioned the bus crash madness was ace, I haven't laughed as much at anything than I have at Myra's shadow storyline and I thought the bullying storyline was good too. I can't get used to Cindy's daughter. The actress must be around 10 years older than the character she is playing and looks it. I'm hoping the rinsing guys storyline leads to the triumphant return of Silas somehow.

I don't understand the new Holly either. It wasn't that long ago she was a pudgy, Northern perma-child who everyone treated like a toddler even though she had to be at least twelve. A couple of months playing her records at a girls' school and she's come back a Southern, middle-aged mantrap who everyone treats like an adult, even though she's supposed to be at most fifteen.
Mind you, this is the soap where siblings who've grown up together can have accents from opposite ends of the country, and smoking a joint can turn you into a shivering, crack-addled wreck, so I suppose its all par for the course.
